Happy Birthday Chickie!

Some of you may recall that on Wednesday's card giveaway one of the commenters wanted a birthday card for Olphine, a girl from Haiti she is sponsoring. Well, even though she didn't win that day's card I did say I would still make a birthday card for her. This is it.

I loved the ribbon, so I chose my colors from that. The image I used is from Pink Petticoat, and rather than a stamped image it's a digital image. The balloon you see was actually an easter egg the chick was balancing on his beak. I cropped the easter egg, turned it around, and placed it above him so i could make it a balloon! I was rather proud of myself for adding the little tied part to the balloon and I drew the string to the chick's beak.
The chick was flocked with yellow flocking and the sky was chalked. The Happy Birthday, the orange dots on the background of the card, and the grass sprigs are all stamps from DRS Designs. The blue layer was embossed with my swiss dots embossing folder.
I hope Olphine likes her card Marlene!
Be sure to come back tomorrow. I have another card using an image Chesney drew to show you! Thanks for looking!
