Mind Your Manners

Good morning everyone! I'm so excited to show you today's cards! That's right, I have more than one! There is an image at squigglefly called Little Librarian that I have loved since I first saw it, but I had a hard time coming up with anything to use it for. Until last night! I had an idea come to me when I asked myself "what book is she reading?" Once I thought in terms of what she is reading all kinds of ideas popped into my head!
Here's my first card

and the inside

I hand wrote on the book "Miss Manners says" and evidently she says that if you're late for a birthday you owe someone an apology! LOL! I don't know what it is with me and making belated birthday cards lately! I think this is my third one in just the past few weeks and I almost never miss someone's birthday!
I colored this with copic markers and chalked the background a little. I used a provocraft embossing folder to emboss the pink cardstock behind the image and I used some little flower ribbon on the ends so just one row of the flowers shows.
I colored a bridal flower from Michaels with a copic marker and glued a button to the center. The words were computer generated and the font is called Segoe print. If you like it you can download it free here.

Okay, here's my next card using the SAME image

And the inside

Isn't he cute? I made her into a boy by simply erasing the pony tail in my photo program (can be done in your paint program too). Once it was erased, I saved the file as a new name so I can always go back and print it again like this. I think he looks just like a little geeky book worm! Don't you love it?
I made his book "Modern Science" and this is also colored with copics and chalked lightly. The papers are from Stampin Up. I'm thinking you could make the book a stamping book and send it to another crafter who's complaining about the lost mojo. The font on this one is called Nyala, but I couldn't find a free download for it.

Wouldn't it be fun to make a card with the boy and the girl as identical twins? hmm...I'll have to think of something for that!

So today is card giveaway day. I will let the winner pick which card they would like to have. Leave a comment on this post by noon tomorrow and I'll have pick a number to determine the winner. I'd love to hear any ideas you may have for other books she could be reading!
I hope you have a great day, and thanks for looking!

OMGoodness, Holly, you amaze me with your sense of humor. I love it!!! The book title could be "Hints from Holly" and you can make an entire book yourself and this could be the cover...bwahahahaha...another winner, or should I say winners!!!

You are just way to clever for me!!! These are adorable. You can title the book "Guess What?" and make it a baby announcement card - inside sentiment "it's a boy" or girl or even "we got a puppy" or something. I'm not as clever as you!

These are great! I love that you took off the ponytail. I never would have thought of that.

On my birthday wish list is a printer that will handle card stock. I "need" to start working with digital images!

Your cards are so cute I just love them.

I am a new follower of your blog but so far I am hooked. I really like your cards. I am a card maker as well but do not get too much time to make them right now. Having 3 little ones 5 an under.

What a great idea to erase the ponytail and make this character a nerdy boy. LOL
