Happy Monday morning and Happy June 1st! My blogaversary is coming up in just a couple of weeks. I am planning on a big blog candy give away to celebrate too!
Well as I said, it's Monday and you know that means it's time for another challenge on the Squigglefly blog! This week's challenge is a sketch, and you can see all the wonderful creations the design did with the sketch here.
I had a lot of people ask me what Debby meant about formatting pictures in word in a comment she left on my placing text video. I do plan on having a second video soon that shows what she means. Formatting is something I only do if I'm printing the text at the same time as the image. So, look for More Cardmaking Tricks With Word coming soon to a blog near you! LOL! Okay, I got a little carried away there!
There have been a lot of hinge cards turning up on blogs lately because Splitcoast Stampers recently had hinge cards as their technique lovers challenge. You can see how to make one and lots of examples by going here. Then I saw this post that Vicki at Stamped Smiles had showing her hinge card and an idea came to me! Did you ever wonder what exactly turtles keep inside their shells? Well, let's take a look

I opened the turtle from squigglefly in my paint program and erased the inside of his shell so I'd have a blank space. Then I printed the regular turtle twice and the blank shelled turtle once. I colored the blank shelled turtle's body, and the shell of one of the regular turtles. I cut both regular shells out and attached the uncolored shell to the turtle with an eyelet. Then I glued the colored shell over the uncolored shell so my eyelet would be hidden.
When the shell is slid open, you see what this particular turtle is hiding in his shell!

Isn't that fun? There are all kinds of things you could put in there. Even just a "hello" would be cute! Here are the copic markers I used for coloring the turtle, not pictured is E08 Brown that I used on the poor ant. Also, I originally had the flower colored red, but I changed it to blue after picking out the designer paper. I colored the flower with BG05 and BG45. Stickles was added to the center.
Well, I hope you have a fantastic day and thanks for looking!
