Giving Away Some Spring

Hi everyone! I got some news yesterday that had me smiling from ear to ear! I've been accepted into the copic certification class that will take place in Memphis on March 7th! I'm so excited!

Today is card give away day on my blog. If you'd like to win today's card, just leave a comment on this post and tomorrow around noon random.org will pick a winner! I even supply a matching envelope!

Today's card is made for those of you pining for Spring. I think this lovely Spring Tree image that Angie Davis drew just makes the sweetest little spring time card! Plus, the clean and simple challenge that Splitcoast Stampers for this week happens to have Spring as their theme, so I made this card for that challenge.

I used a textured pink card base and embossed one of the border embossing folders from Provo Craft on the side. Then I sanded it a bit to bring out the design.

The image was printed and then cut with a scalloped square nestability. I ran it through again to emboss it. It's colored with copic markers and the sky is chalked. I was going for an early spring sunrise look.

I thought the image was pretty enough to stand on it's own, so I didn't use any ribbons, embellishments, or designer paper. This makes it qualify for the challenge at Die Cuts R Us where they are challenging you to not use designer paper!

So, if you'd like to have this card - just leave me a comment! Wishing you a wonderful day and thanks for looking!

I am SOOO excited for you, but knowing as much about copics as you do, you could teach your own class! Oh how I wish I was going with ya! :) Can't wait to hear all about it! Just go by Archivers and think of me!

This card is GORGEOUS! Angie's image definitely sets us up for spring! I love the simplicity of the card...the embossed side is all it needed! FABULOUS job on your chalked sunrise too! Someone is going to be quite lucky when they win this!

Enjoy this sunshine! :)

Beautiful, Holly,
and congrats on getting into the Copics class-although, IMHO, you could probably TEACH the class.

Beautiful image and beautiful card, love how you used the narrow embossing folder, I have them and rarely use them it is good to see them used.

Holly -

Congratulations! You must be so excited about attending the Copic Certification class? How wonderful for you!
I love what you have done with this card. And it really puts me in mind of spring. I am so ready to hear birds chirping and little buds peaking up from the ground and trees. I love this card, so pretty. It needs no other embellishments, it is perfect as it is.

I am ready for Spring and I love your card and all of the elements you have added - the chalked in sky, sanding the border, etc....everything fits together so well. You will love, love, love your class. I've taken the class that Mary Ann has taught in Portland Oregon and the class is worth it's weight in gold. So relax and enjoy your special day in class.

Your card is beautiful!! The image is colored wonderfully and I like the embossing down the side.

Congrats on getting into the copic class! You will have a blast with Sally Lynn and learn a lot, I've had the pleasure of taking a basic copics class with her and cropping with her many times.

Congrats on getting into the Copics class! You know so much already, I can't wait to see where you go after the class!

I love your challenge card- especially the embossing. I think sometimes we card artists use patterned paper too much. Nice to have a challenge that forces us to be more creative.
