Row of Pears

Hi everyone! Wow, I can't believe it's already Thursday! This has been a stressful week with all that we've been through with Riley so I guess that is why it's sped by. Riley is MUCH better and so far there is no sign of tissue damage.

Just wanted to remind you again that tomorrow is your last chance to get in on the One A Day In May deal!

I have a simple card to share with you today.

This image is drawn by Angie Davis and is called Pears. I colored with Copic markers and had a great time trying to improve my coloring on each pear. Can you tell which end I started at? It's a great image to practice shading and highlights on.

The Thinking of You is from clearly Stampendous. I stamped it once in a More Mustard ink, but it didn't show up well enough, so I re-stamped with black. You can still see a little of the mustard ink, but I think it's a cool shadow effect. A raindot is on either side of the sentiment. Simple, but very pretty I think!

I have a question for you. I've recently begun clearing out some of my stamps that I haven't used in a while. I was thinking I could offer some of them up as prizes or blog candy from time to time. Do you think it would be tacky to give something used?
I don't think I would mind winning a set of stamps if I liked them even if they were used, but I wanted to hear your opinion before I did it.

I hope you have a spectacular day today, and thanks for looking!

I think that's absolutely OK to give away used stamps. Most people who love stamping would not mind that at all. Send away girl! I'm ready for winning one. LOL

Oh it's SOOO good to hear the news about Riley! Bless her still pains me to think what she went through. Just goes to show you the power prayer has! :)

Your card is BEAUTIFUL...I love this image and you did an amazing job coloring it! I need to take your suggestion of using it for copic practice! It's been so long, I'll need a refresher course!

Sounds like we better enjoy the sunshine we see right now because this weekend's forecast sounds like it's gonna be round 2! I have been getting weather alerts on my phone since Tues! :(

I am so glad Riley is doing good. Give her a big hug and kiss for me :).
I love this card this morning, beautiful greens and beautiful coloring.
No it would not be tacky to give away used stamps. They sell used stamps all the time on EBay :). So offering them for blog candy is great to me, I know I will be watching and trying to win :) I love rubber..

Holly -

So very happy to hear about Riley! I hope she keeps doing better and is back to her usually, sweet crazy self! You must be breathing a lot easier knowing she is on the mend and that signs of tissue damage are not showing up? I'll continue to keep Riley in my thoughts and prayers.
I LOVE this card you created! I have a "thing" for pears. I don't know why, but everytime I find a pear stamp, I have to get it. Now I only have about 4 or 5, but I love them. So when I saw your card I went nuts! I just love how the card came out and your coloring is just perfect!
By the way, gifting lovingly used stamps is not tacky. You are just sending them to a new home where they will find a renewed purpose.

Bring 'em on Holly ----- I wouldn't mind at all!! BIG hugs to you and that Riley dog. Such good news there's no tissue damage; oh how much worse it could have been!

I don't think offering used stamps is tacky. If a person thinks it is, they don't have to enter. I'd be thrilled to win some stamps - whether they are new or lovingly used.

Yes, I'd be happy to win a set of your used stamps!! Don't we all like something free, no matter what it is. Besides, I know demonstrators that actually offer their used stamps to their customers, by way of selling them.
Good news about Riley. I know how much you 'love' your dog, as I have a house dog now for 11 years and wouln't want anything serious to happen to her.

So Riley is better! Yippee! or YEEE HAW as we say in Texas!

I love your CAS card! The pears are beautiful and if you hadn't said you stamped the sentiment twice because the first time didn't show up well, we'd have all thought you intended it to be as it is. :O)

As for the stamps giveaway, I see nothing wrong with giving them away (used or not). They are still new to the recipient! That said, I'd LOVE to win!!! :O)

As long as the person knows that in advance I don't think it's tacky at all! I think everyone could use some different stamps on occasion, and this would be a great thing!

So glad Riley is doing better.

I think it's fine to give away used stamps, especially if you send them my way **LOL** After all, it's a free give away, so I can't imagine that anyone would be upset.
