Fun and Prizes for a Grand Opening

Good morning and Happy Fourth of July to you! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and that your celebration of this country's independence is a safe one!

We are still celebrating the grand opening of Squigglefy's new group on Papercraft Planet. Lots of prizes were given away yesterday and there was another freebie offered! I hope you take some time go over and check it all out! The challenge they have going on for the grand opening is to create a card that is for a happy celebration. It can be a card for any kind of happy occasion. There's a really special prize up for this challenge. It's a hand colored original drawing of the new Mama's Little Helper image that was just released this weekend. Lynne Stansbery has colored this with colored pencils and it's signed. I went shopping for a frame for this yesterday and found the perfect one. Here's what you could win
Just go HERE to play along!

Here's the card I made for the challenge.

I used Michelle Bertuzzi's Fintastic Friend image. I printed it out twice; once on card stock and once on acetate. I flipped the acetate over and scribbled some Copic markers on the water and gravel part and then I dripped a little of the Copic blender ink on the water colors and let it swirl and become watery. Once it was dry, I added some crystal effects on the bubbles and laid the acetate on top. This created dimension and the crystal effects also holds the acetate.

Another card I made uses an image by an artist new to Squigglefly this week - Joyous Bird is by Revi Devi Paat and was so much fun to color. I used Copic markers and chalk for the sky.

Now I'm off to see who today's featured stamper is on Splitcoast Stampers. Please join the fun at the Papercraft planet group and don't forget that today is the last day you can use the code for a whopping 30% discount at Squigglefly!

Thanks for looking!

You know how I love birds, and Joyous Bird is hysterical! She is just sooo prissy and will charm everyone! These are both sooo awesome, Holly! :)
