I Can't Think Of A Title For This, But There's Cards!

(this will remain on top until the give away - please scroll down for the current post)

I've got blog candy!

there's a lot of stuff here - a Stampin' Up! stamp set (slightly used), some 6x6 papers, some shimmer mist, some ribbon, some snowflake embellishments, some unmounted rubber stamps, some flower stickers, a provo craft die, decorative brads, assortment of embellishments including some of my hand crocheted snow flakes, and a set of blo pens (great for adding speckles to your background!), and a quickie glue pen. Right now I am at 310 followers. For every 3 more followers I gain until the end of this blog candy I will add another something to the prize package!

To win this candy, just leave me a comment when I post something. I have a day picked out between now and the end of the month. On that day I will have random. org pick a winner from the comments left on that day. You won't know which day is picked, so your best chance is to comment every day! I will announce the winner of the candy on November 1st!
Only one more follower and I'm going to add this package of brass charms to the blog candy! There's no telling how big the prize package will be by the end of the month if ya'll spread the word!

Hi everyone! Can you handle a few more challenge cards? Yesterday's Hope You Can Cling To challenge was Don't Be A Square. We had to make a card that isn't square or rectangular. I didn't want to do the easy thing and make a card that was a circle so I printed out the Doggone Cute image from Squigglefly, colored it, and then glued it to a folded card lining up the edge of the dog house on the fold. Then I cut around the whole thing letting the roof of the house on the fold side extend out.

So, even though it worked I'm not really that happy with the card. I think it needs something else and I didn't leave any room for a sentiment or any kind of embellishment. Since I wasn't happy with it, I decided to make another one and this time I did take the easy way and use my nestabilities!

This snowman is a peek at a brand new one that Jane Beljo has drawn for Squigglefly. It will be released this weekend, and it's called snowman and bird. I colored the image with Copic markers and glued some torn layers of paper at the bottom. Then I cut it out with a circle nestability and embossed it with swiss dots embossing folder. When I embossed it, my torn layers kind of disappeared, so I pulled the layers up a bit and added some snow tex to them. I also dotted some of the snow tex on the embossed dots that were on the scarf and bird.

The scalloped layer was covered with some designer paper from Brenda Walton and then embossed with the swirl embossing folder. I like this one better, but it's not as "outside the box" as I wanted.

My next card was also a challenge for me (is my mojo leaving me so soon?). I did this one for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I had a hard time thinking of what to do for the piece behind the image panel!

The image is from Squigglefly and is one Michelle Bertuzzi drew and it's called The Way I See It. I love the image and also love the quotation. I colored the rainbow with Copic markers and then ran a quickie glue pen over it and dusted some glitter over it. I had some rain drop shaped rain dots and stuck them over the rain drops on the image.

I LOVED having the rainbow colored ribbon to use with this! It worked perfectly for the sketch and goes so well with the image. (Thanks Freida!)

Well, that's it for today! Have a great day and try to get a smile out of someone today! Thanks for looking!

Who wouldn't like a snowman card? The embossing you used for the background makes it pop.

You're right about the ribbon in the third card..I was wondering if you'd colored it with copics but I see you got it that way...very fun ribbon and a very nice card too :)

Happy Thursday, it's been beautiful outside today :)
