Little girls and tea parties

(this will remain on top until the give away - please scroll down for the current post)

I've got blog candy!

there's a lot of stuff here - a Stampin' Up! stamp set (slightly used), some 6x6 papers, some shimmer mist, some ribbon, some snowflake embellishments, some unmounted rubber stamps, some flower stickers, a provo craft die, decorative brads, assortment of embellishments including some of my hand crocheted snow flakes, and a set of blo pens (great for adding speckles to your background!), and a quickie glue pen. Right now I am at 310 followers. For every 3 more followers I gain until the end of this blog candy I will add another something to the prize package! I have added a package of six brass charms, a package of 12 sugar coating glitter by Doodlebug, and a Viva Silver Pearl pen to the prize package so far! When I reach 322 followers I will add this

Two brand new foam mounted Inky Impressions rubber stamps. These are Angelica's Heart Socks and LiLi's Chicks.

To win this candy, just leave me a comment when I post something. I have a day picked out between October 11th and the end of the month. On that day I will have random. org pick a winner from the comments left on that day. You won't know which day is picked, so your best chance is to comment every day! I will announce the winner of the candy on November 1st!

Happy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well. I have a few cards to share with you today. The first one was made for the next Hope You Can Cling To Challenge, which is Thank Heaven For Little Girls. The challenge is to create something with lots of pink and to get inspiration from the song Thank Heaven For Little Girls, a childhood memory, or from photos they provided for inspiration. I chose this adorable All Dressed Up image drawn by Lynne Stansbery for my pink creation.

I can remember dressing up as a child and I remember my own children playing dress up too. I don't think I ever looked as cute as this little one though! I was more obsessed with having long hair so I'd put a pair of panty hose on my head and pretend the legs were long pig tails! My own two girls were more into dressing up like fairies, princesses, and kitty cats!

This cutie is colored with Copic markers and the sentiment is computer generated on the designer paper - which by the way is from My Minds Eye.

My next card is for Mothermark's Tea party. We are all going to Florida to save Disney World. You may be wondering why Disney World needs saving, and if you're curious you can go read about the tea party HERE.

I do not have any Disney character stamps, so I improvised with the Isabella kitty image from Squigglefly. I was thinking of the two Siamese cats from Lady And The Tramp. I looked up the cats online to see how they were colored, and I am glad I did because I would have colored them grey! The whole time I was making this I was singing "We are Siamese if you please. We are Siamese if you don't please!" Anyway, I think Isabella looks just as stuck up and pleased with herself as those Siamese cats in the movie do!

They are colored with Copic markers and a little chalking is done for their shadows. The sentiment is computer generated.

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for looking!

Love both cards! The cats reminded me of the Siamese cats in Lady and the Tramp...which reminded me of watching that movie - hundreds of times - with my little girl (she's 15 now!). Thanks for the memories!

I know a couple of people who would love that cat card! So cute Holly! And the 'dress-up' card reminds me of when my granddaughter was little. She LOVED to dress up. I have several pages in her scrapbook of her in some of my old dress. Hmmmmmm, I may just have to add this adorable image to one of her pages.........

There are not many times that I am at a loss for words, but today is one of them!

I read the story about Lynette and what a brave and courageous soul she is (I wish I knew how to insert a heart here). She will LOVE the cards...The little kitty siamese card will be purrrrfect for her. You know, I think it's things like that that keep people going in times like hers.

Of course, I can't forget the first card. It looks like my granddaughters when WE have our tea parties (ours are happy times)..I have several tea sets and we have them from time to time. In fact, it's been awhile..we need to have one soon!

Thanbks for sharing Holly!

Hi Holly -

Love the sweet card with that precious little girl playing dress-up. She is so cute! And you totally captured the snootiness of the Disney kitties. I love how this card turned out - so adorable.

All dressed up makes me giggle. And "We are Siamese if you, please..." brings back memories of when my girls were little and we'd watch Lady & the Tramp and we'd all sing along with these nasty cats! TFTM

Well you made me spew my coffee all over my monitor screen again...panty hose for pigtails??? Now THAT'S A GOOD ONE! teehee :) PRICELESS!!!
When I read of this challenge, I was hoping you'd use this image. This is ONE of my all-time favorites because it reminds me of my Sara when she was little. Oh those precious memories! You did such a FANTASTIC job on her with your coloring/blending and the DP you chose is fabulous...great sketch too! It's just a precious card all the way around!
Now these fur babies are definitely up to something...between that strut and their expressions you can tell they're up to no good! ;) Such a great sentiment, and you KNOW I love this DP...just don't know what it is, but you always choose the right one that compliments the image!

Well I'm off to get a much needed haircut! Hope your day ROCKS! :)
Hugs~

We are Siamese is you please...We are Siamese if you don't please... Love the card you made for the Mothermark's teaparty. The little girl all dressed up is adorable. Both of my daughters loved dressing up and having tea parties when they were little, thanks for brining that memory to my mind today.
