Miss Manners She's Not

(this will remain on top until the give away - please scroll down for the current post)

I've got blog candy!

there's a lot of stuff here - a Stampin' Up! stamp set (slightly used), some 6x6 papers, some shimmer mist, some ribbon, some snowflake embellishments, some unmounted rubber stamps, some flower stickers, a provo craft die, decorative brads, assortment of embellishments including some of my hand crocheted snow flakes, and a set of blo pens (great for adding speckles to your background!), and a quickie glue pen. Right now I am at 310 followers. For every 3 more followers I gain until the end of this blog candy I will add another something to the prize package! I have added a package of six brass charms, a package of 12 sugar coating glitter by Doodlebug, a Viva Silver Pearl pen, two brand new foam mounted Inky Impressions stamps, and a package of 60 self-adhesive clear gems to the prize package so far! When I reach 328 followers I will add this

A package of four different fresh flocking from Studio G.

To win this candy, just leave me a comment when I post something. I have a day picked out between October 11th and the end of the month. On that day I will have random. org pick a winner from the comments left on that day. You won't know which day is picked, so your best chance is to comment every day! I will announce the winner of the candy on November 1st!

Hi everyone! Why do weekends fly by so quickly? Mine was gone in a flash! Yesterday I told you I'd share the card I made with the wrong theme for the sewing challenge, so here it is!

I used The Morning Brew image by Chesney Young and colored her with Copic markers. I colored her mug to match the paper! The sentiment is computer generated. Now, she may look all innocent and sweet, but the inside is rather different.

LOL! I love cards that zing you with something on the inside! You can see my sewing isn't the straightest, but that just adds to the homemade character, right?

I did get a chance to play in the featured stamper challenge yesterday. I saved several cards from her gallery to CASE later, but here's the first one I tried.

If you want to see the card I chose to CASE, you can see it HERE. I used Jane Beljo's Retro Tulips image, but I just printed one of the tulips. The sentiment is quickly becoming one of my favorites; Birthday Wishes by Jess Holland. I use it all the time!

It's colored with Copic markers and only used these five colors

Guess what we discovered this weekend. Riley has learned how to climb the fence in our backyard! I don't know what we're going to do. Brock found her out front Saturday night, and yesterday morning when I let her out I found her out front a few minutes later! At least she isn't running off, but if she were climbing over to go after a squirrel, or a possum or something she'd just keep going after it and end up who knows where!

Okay today is a brand new challenge on the Squigglefly Blog so be sure to go see what Maria has challenged the design team to do! Hopefully I'll get a card made for it too! Thanks for looking, and have a great Monday!

Oh Ms Riley definitely knows how to make life interesting! Molly has tried that a couple of times and she always has this coy look like she knows she's in trouble! Oh these fur babies! :)

I can see why you would be disappointed that you could not use your card for that challenge...IT IS FABULOUS! Everything is so well coordinated with that fantastic DP! Dots just ring my bell, and I LOVE these colors! The image really sets you up for that pun on the inside...just too cute! Your stitching finishes it off beautifully (BTW...looks straight to me)! What a great card! :)
OMGoodness, that tulip looks sooo stunning! WOW! What a fabulous design and your coloring really brings out its beauty. Love how you backed the image and matched up the stems...gives a definite WOW-factor! :) Such an eye-catcher! GORGEOUS!

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Great cards, and love your sense of humor. The zingers always get me.

Hope you figure out how to keep Riley in the fence. Talk to her, remind her what a great home she has! No running away.

Holly I don't know how you do it. 2 more fabulous cards. Escaping dogs is very scary because your right when they are on a scent that's all they know and could get them in Big trouble. I hope you find a solution to the fence climbing.

I love funny cards Holly, they are the best! I think your sewing was pretty darn great too!

I love the funny card!
And that flower is wonderful!

Marlene said...

Ohhh...I LOVE the zinger cards, too!!! What a hoot!!! (P.S. the sewing looks pretty dang perfect to me)

Your second card is so pretty, in all it's simplicity. Just five copics, and you managed to get that much depth. Gorgeous coloring.

Oh dear...the dog can climb the fence. Time for a higher fence???

Hi Holly -

I agree with you, this weekend just flew, I blinked and it eas gone! I love both your cards, way to cute and I love the way you highlighted the tulip in the second card.
Ms. Riley is misbehaving? Say it ain't so! She is a clever girl isn't she - LOL! You may have to add a higher fence.

I must tell you that since I have been following you're blog , I have gotten so many cute ideas that I would not have thought to try. I just love the way you did the tulip bud here. I am quite jealous with the sewing on your first card, as my Janome went Kaput!!!! Both are awesome cards.

Patricia St Martin said...

Both cards are very nice. Emma is here today and she said the lady drinking the coffee looks just like like mommie. Except mommie has dark hair. On the other card she says nice, I love it. I do like how you centered the retro tulip in the circle, it really brings your eye right to the the tulip and you colored that so nice.

that b'day card reminded me of one i gave once ~ 'may your blessings be more than the candles on your cake' :)

I love both of your cards - the detail of the cup that was paper pieced was very eye catching, and the tulip card is just beautiful and the design is very unique and fun.

Blessings,
