You Are Super and The Cherry On Top

(this will remain on top until the give away - please scroll down for the current post)

I've got blog candy!

there's a lot of stuff here - a Stampin' Up! stamp set (slightly used), some 6x6 papers, some shimmer mist, some ribbon, some snowflake embellishments, some unmounted rubber stamps, some flower stickers, a provo craft die, decorative brads, assortment of embellishments including some of my hand crocheted snow flakes, and a set of blo pens (great for adding speckles to your background!), and a quickie glue pen. Right now I am at 310 followers. For every 3 more followers I gain until the end of this blog candy I will add another something to the prize package! I have added a package of six brass charms, a package of 12 sugar coating glitter by Doodlebug, a Viva Silver Pearl pen, two brand new foam mounted Inky Impressions stamps, a package of 60 self-adhesive clear gems, and a four pack of fresh flocking from Studio G to the prize package so far! When I reach 331 followers I will add this

A set of 10 metal tab clips with different words on them by Making Memories.

To win this candy, just leave me a comment when I post something. I have a day picked out between October 11th and the end of the month. On that day I will have random. org pick a winner from the comments left on that day. You won't know which day is picked, so your best chance is to comment every day! I will announce the winner of the candy on November 1st!

Hi everyone! I hope your week has started off well. I think we have a solution to the fence problem and Riley. There is a shop by my office that sells plastic in all forms and I stopped by there on my way home from work yesterday to see if they could cut a sheet about 3 feet high and howver long the gate is where Riley is climbing. They have the perfect plastic for this and we are going to drill holes in the side and use zip ties to anchor it to the gate. I think that when she tries to jump up and stick her little paws into the gate holes this will stop her! Right now I don't think she's figured out that she can climb up anywhere on the fence, just at this one spot that's worked because that's where she goes to do it. Anyway, I'll stop by there after work today and get a piece cut and see if that stops her. I'd love to have a little camera out there to catch her when she first tries it! LOL!

I have two cards to share with you today. The first one uses one of the images by Squigglefly's newest artist Abz Hakim. I love this cute Supermom image, and I love how my card turned out

I left the words that come with this image off and printed my sentiment out on my computer. I picked a Fabulous Fifties font because there's something about Abz style of drawing that reminds me of ads from the fifties. My image is colored with Copic markers and I put some rain dots on her glasses. One of the rain dots was a little too big, but I was able to cut it down to fit. It's good to know that those things are easily trimmed! The designer paper is from Cloud 9 design. I don't know if it's all the purple or what, but I just really think this is a "super" cute card!

My next card is for yesterdays Hope You Can Cling To challenge - Button It! The challenge is to use a button or lots of buttons on your card. The card I did was so simple that I almost felt like I was cheating!

I used the sweet pair of Cherries that Angie Davis drew for Squigglefly and used two big red buttons for the cherries. Very simple and quick!

My sentiment was computer generated and the paper is from the Citrus pack by DCWV. It's hard to believe that there have been 25 challenges so far and I have completed every single one of them! I still need to make a card for Squigglefly's challenge - hopefully I'll get to that this afternoon.

Enjoy your day, and thanks for looking!

Love your cherry on top card! I have to start thinking of buttons as parts of designs rather than non-focal embellishments!

Holly that Cherry on Top card is sweet! Love the use of the buttons! And I think you are right about the font for the first card...it is very fitting! I hope you are able to keep Riley from getting out, and it would be cool to catch her in the act! Hope that plastic works Holly! Have a great great day!

Yeah, I'd love to see Ms Riley when she tries with the plastic on! A video would probably win you some bucks on America's Funniest Video...gosh I love that show, especially when they have clips of animals and babies!

Well you just keep spitting these challenges out...how awesome to have done them all! I'm quite impressed, my dear...and how impressive these are! Abz's image is just too cute, and these colors ROCK! The sentiment is very fitting and I LOVE that font...yep, I agree! The image just calls for it! :) The rain dots are perfect...reminds me of my daddy's old coke-bottle glasses! It's not just a "super" card, it's SUPER FANTASTIC! :)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cherries! SOOO creative and the way you colored/blended those leaves is incredible! The DP really makes the image panel pop...such a bright, cheerful card! FABULOUS cards, Hon! ;)

It looks like we are headed for some bad weather! UGHHH! Just stay safe, my friend!

Hugs~

Oh my, what darling cards. I love the glasses, I don't have the rain dots, but think that I could use glossy accents for the same effect. The use of the buttons as cherriesis also a great idea. I so love your cards.

Holly -

I also would love to see Riley's reaction when she tries her Houdini trick and it doesn't work - LOL! Love your cards today, I especially love how you treated the eyeglasses on SuperMom, just too cute! The cherry on top card is adorable. Do you do anything special if you are sending this in the mail, because of the buttons I mean?

chicago is supposed to be getting the brunt of it. i always said i live in GOD'S VALLEY. the wind is howling and it did knock over a solid wood 2 foot eagle off our deck, otherwise, it could be worse!!!

Cute cards. I really like the use of buttons for the cherries. Thanks for the tip about the rain dots. I thought it was done with crystal effects until you told how you trimmed the rain dots.
