Babies and Kitties

hi everyone! Boy did we have a rainy day yesterday! Not long after Riley and I finished our walk the rains came in and it didn't stop all day long. It was wonderful! The only thing that would have made it better was if I had been home instead of at work, but I still enjoyed it. Today I have two cards to share with you. The first one is one I made for my best friend's daughter who just found out that she is expecting a baby in July! I found this darling scrapbook paper at Michaels and used it as the background and also cut out some of the cute things on it to adorn the inside of the card.

the image is called Baby Bump from Squigglefly, but I cut the silhouette of the woman out and mounted it directly on the designer paper. Here's a look at the inside

My next card uses a brand new image called Beloved Kitties from Squigglefly. It's drawn by Suzanne Urban and I love the grouchy look she's given this kitty!

I printed the sentiment that comes with this image directly on to the card stock base and my image is colored with colored pencils. I added some yellow stickles for his halo, glitter on his wings, and puff paint on the clouds. He looks grumpy even though he's on his way to heaven! The whole time I was making this I was thinking that it's lucky for my kitty if this is true! I'm sure anyone who has ever had a cat can relate to this.

Featured Stamper card and a Fun Craft To Do With Kids!

Hi everyone! How do Monday's come around so fast? Four days off flew by! I did have time to play in the featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast stampers yesterday. The card I chose to CASE is THIS ONE, and here is my card

I loved the way Kris had the little bow tied around the top of the bird cage, so I was sure to copy that little gem of an idea! My caged bird is from Squigglefly of course, and is drawn by Revi Devi Paat. I colored the bird with Copic markers, but that's the only coloring that was required!

The happy birthday sentiment is from a dollar stamp I got at Michaels. The pearls at the top really dress this up don't you think?

Now, how about a fun thing you can do with your kids or grandkids? A while back I saw on one of Squigglefly's design team members blogs where she was making turkey's with her daughter by tracing their hands. I mentioned to her a craft I used to do with my kids when they were younger where we used their hands and feet to make a reindeer. I told her how to do it, and then I thought maybe it would be a fun thing to show ya'll too!

I don't have any grandkids (yet!) to do this with, so I did the next best thing and asked my best friend if she would trace her granddaughter's hands and feet for me so I could make one. here's how Katelyn's reindeer looks

Here's how you do it - trace the child's foot on to brown card stock and cut out. Trace both hands on a lighter brown card stock and cut out. I sponged around the hands with some Chocolate Chip ink, and I thought it might look cute embossed too but I haven't tried that yet. Tape the hands at the toes end of the foot and add eyes and red nose.

I made my eyes with two white ovals, and two smaller black ovals. The eyelids were punched out of two brown ovals and I used a circle punch to take a bite out of each one. I sponged some Chocolate Chip ink on that too and used pop dots to pop them out over the eyes a bit. I used a white gel pen on the black part of the eye. The nose was also popped up and sponged a bit on the edges to give it a bit more dimension.
I added a bow so Katelyn can have a girl reindeer!

Make sure you write the child's name and date on the back. You can add a paper clip to the back for hanging, or a magnet for hanging on the fridge. I've also seen popsicle sticks taped to the back so they can be used as puppets. I think it would be cute to trace the hands and foot, scan them and then reduce the size on your computer and make tiny little reindeer for putting on a tree or pinning on a coat lapel.

snowman in lights

Hi everyone! Well are you ready to start the work week again tomorrow? it's hard getting back into a routine after you've been off for four days! Today will be my "catch up" day. I will spend it catching up on all the things I need to before going back to work tomorrow. It was sure a nice time off though!

As I told you a couple of days ago, I needed to make a few more Christmas cards to round up my list so I hope you don't get tired of seeing Christmas cards for another week! The one I have to share with you today uses the cute little Snowman Lights by Brian Lock.

I colored this with Copic markers and added a coating of glitter to the lights. If you look closely you will see a faint glow around each Christmas bulb. I did that by dragging a bit of the color out with my blender pen.

The sentiment is computer generated and I stuck a little red button on with a glue dot. This was a pretty quick card to make once I had the layout planned. I am now off to check out this week's featured stamper challenge and maybe I'll get a chance to play later on. last of the stamp a stack

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you were able to spend it with family and friends. Ours was a very nice one. The weather was kind of freaky though. It was about 70 degrees most of the day and really humid. Then some rain came in with lots of wind that blew in some colder air. By 9 pm it was in the mid 30s. Quite a change!

Today I am sharing the last two cards we made at the Stamp-a-stack a few weeks ago.

This first card was a quick one to make, but she had all the layers already cut for us. We stamped lots of differetn snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes all over a white card. We used Night of Navy and Marina Mist inks. The sentiment is from a set called Peaceful Season and was stamped in the Night of Navy ink.

The snowflake was cut from a Northern Frost strip and attached with a silver brad.

This second card was my favorite one.

All of the images on this card come from Baroque Motifs, All Holidays, and the Music Notes wheel. The ornament was punched out and we wrapped some of the silver tinsel around the top of it.

Today i plan on working on a few more Christmas cards. I got my Christmas cards in envelopes and all addressed and then discovered that I'm still a few short! Later this afternoon I am going for a massage and then Brock and I are going to take advantage of this cold weather and get Riley out in the woods for a little fun tree sniffing! No Black Friday shopping for me!

Featured Stamper Cards and Something Fun!

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday, but it really feels like Thursday since tomorrow is the last work day of the week! I think I could get used to working three days a week - how about you?

Sunday's featured stamper on Splitcoast Stampers had a gallery full of clean and simple cards! I chose two cards in her gallery to CASE.

Isn't this the perfect card to make at the last minute when you realize you have more people on your list than you do cards? I used the "Happy Holidays" from Nina Brackett's Happy Everything set and just colored in the "Happy" with a red Copic markers. Then I stamped over it with a background stamp from Stampin' Up! in a light green. I think the name of the background image is called Filigree, but I'm not sure.

The green card base is embossed with a Quick Kutz embossing folder. I thought the flowers kind of looked like poinsettias and that's why I picked it. Then I stuck on some of the Recollections holly stickers that I bought at Michaels.

I used the sweet little Forest Friend image drawn by Revi Devi Paat and I used my computer to print out the sentiment at the same time I printed the image. The grass was stamped with my well loved grass sprigs stamp from Art Impressions. The deer and bird were colored with Copic markers.


Now, for the "something fun" I mentioned in my title - I ran across this website Andrea Currie Crafts and loved watching the enthusiasm she has in her crafting videos. So, I contacted Andrea and asked her if she'd like to play around with some Squigglefly images. Andrea picked out some and tonight she is going to have a live craft show featuring holiday cards and some of them will be using the Squigglefly images she chose! A Real Woman Has A Smokin' Hot Birthday

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was! We had a Digi Day at Squigglefly's group on Card Universe Saturday night. If you didn't make it you might want to drop by and check out the challenge. It actually fits in perfectly with my post today because the challenge is to make a funny card - any theme and any Squigglefly image you want!
You have two weeks to get your card entered for the prize which is a package of silver pearls and a package of shake it pouches to make shaker cards super simple! Of course you also get a free Squigglefly image!

There were lots of freebies given away too, so be sure you at least hop over to pick those up! Here's a card I made for the new challenge on Squigglefly's blog and it uses one of the freebies that was passed out last night!

I simply printed the sentiment out on to some ivory card stock and used a shaped template to cut around it. I sponged some Garden Green ink around the edge. An ivory panel was embossed with an embossing folder and then it was sponged also. The sentiment is popped up on some micro pop dots and I glued down a couple of flower shaped pearls. I colored the center pearl with a Copic marker.


Today is Squigglefly DT member Marlene Shaw's birthday, and in honor of that I have two birthday cards to share with you. Everyone who knows Marlene knows that she has a sense of humor that won't quit, so both of my cards are on the funny side.

This first card uses the brand new release Domestic Goddess by Teresa Ward. I printed the greeting at the same time as the image. It's colored with copic markers.

I embossed a piece of designer paper with a Happy Birthday embossing folder making sure that "happy birthday" shows on the piece. then I sponged it with some blue ink to highlight the words and also so the piece didn't blend into the card base.

I punched one corner of a piece of designer paper and stuck the image panel inside. I wanted something to fill in all the white space on the right so I cut a slit with a Basic Grey punch tool to thread some ribbon through. The punch line is inside

The image on this card is Party Girl by Chesney Young. I colored her with copic markers and did a little chalking in the background. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with an oval nestabilites. the black flourishes are from a Sizzix die. Here's the inside

Again, the words are computer generated and I used the Whimsy Cake image by Angie Davis. The cake is colored with Copic markers. I added a ton more candles myself and used stickles for the flames. The "smoke" is black chalk.

I'm Too Sexy For This Snow

Good morning and happy weekend! Today is the big release at Squigglefly! Have you been to see all the fabulously fun images?

I've got a card that uses one of the funny images from artist Brian Lock.

This image is called Snowcouple. It looked to me like the snowman was a little angry with the snow woman and all while I was coloring it I was wondering what he was so upset about. I mean, I know they're melting on the bottom but why did he seem angry with her? Anyway as I colored it I thought the snow woman looked so non-plussed in her eyeglasses, lipstick, and red purse that I came up with the idea for these lines.

I printed the words with my computer and used one of the free speech bubbles from Squigglefly to encase them. They are colored with copic markers and the sky is chalked. I used a bit of stickles for the snow.

We're going to be having a digi day on Squigglefly's group at Card Universe tonight! We'll have a challenge with prizes and a freebie or two as well as lots
of chatting and sharing of inspiring projects to fuel ideas!

This Little Piggy

Happy Friday to you all! Are you ready to see another sneak peek at one of the new images coming this weekend? Today I'm sharing a new image from Suzanne Urban called This Little Piggy. I love the happy yet slightly smug look on this pig's face

and look at how he's so light on his feet! I used some of the purple polka dotted paper I like so much and added a die cut chain that's been embossed at the top for decoration. The die cut was a gift from my dear friend Freida.

It's colored with Copic markers and I added a bit of stickles on the stars that are floating about. The whole time I was coloring this that nursery rhyme was going through my head. Now here's a look at the inside of the card

I just couldn't help myself! I printed the inside sentiment with a font called Halo Handletter. It's a freebie you can grab HERE.

I really wanted to have a sneak peek of one of Brian Lock's images, but I didn't have time to make a card with the one I've colored yet so I guess it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Remember to check Squigglefly tomorrow for the new release - it's one you don't want to miss!

From Our Home To Yours and another sneak peek!

Hi everyone! I've got a couple of cards to share with you today and one of them is a sneak peek at one of the new images coming to Squigglefly this weekend. I'm so excited about this release and can't wait until you can all see what's new!

My first card is another Christmas card. I originally started this for last week's challenge on the Squigglefly blog where the theme was "music to my ears". My intention was that hearing we had snow expected is music to my ears, but I didn't get this finished in time.

I used the winter house from one of my all time favorite sets Seasonal House On A Hill and colored with Copic markers. I chalked the sky and added some glitter on the snowy areas.

The sentiment is computer generated in a font called Miss Le Gatees. You can get it free HERE. I think it's a very elegant looking font.

My next card is a sneak peek and features an image from Marlene Shaw. This funny guy is called Phat Peddler. I came up with a couple of not so appropriate sentiments for this, but I ended up going with something a little tamer

I colored him with copic markers and created the sky and a little trail for him to ride on with chalks. I used my grass sprigs stamp from Art Impressions over the green chalk. The sentiment was computer generated with another free font called Fabulous 50's. I attached it with some green staples. I don't use staples on my cards very often, but this one just seemed to call for it.

The inside isn't decorated or anything, but it does have the punch line so I'll share it with you

My boss is a bike rider, so I think this will be going to him sometime soon!

Warm Wishes and a Sneak Peek!

Good morning and happy Hump Day! Yesterday we had a wonderful soaking in rain here. Riley and I missed our morning walk because of it, but it was a really wonderful cloudy day and we needed the rain. Don't worry about Riley, we got her out for the usual evening walk!

I'm feeling really good about my Christmas shopping. I've already got quite a bit of it done, thanks to online shopping! Soon it will be time to start addressing all of these Christmas cards I've been making and wrapping the gifts! Yikes!

On the subject of Christmas, I've got a couple more Christmas cards to share with you. This first one is for a few challenges that simply required a snowflake to be used somewhere on your card.

This adorable image is from Diane Carubia called Wrapped Up Christmas. I colored them with Copic markers and added a little stickles and faux flower soft to their hats. When I was coloring the light green on the scarf my marker dripped a big drop of ink on my image! I cleaned up as best I could with my colorless blender, but there was still a faint shadow outside the lines. So, rather than leave it or pitch all I'd already done I decided to use that dotting technique around the image to help hide it.

The image was cut out with a nestabilites die and then I sponged some green ink around the edges. The sentiment is computer generated and I sponged the same ink along the edges of that panel as well.

The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye and has some snowflakes on it, and then I tied a small plastic snowflake with some thread to let dangle from some ribbon. I added a little light green jewel to the center.

Now I hope that you've heard about the exciting things that are happening at Squigglefly this weekend. There is going to be a really great release of new images this weekend, and we are introducing THREE NEW ARTISTS! One of the new artists is none other than Marlene Shaw from Squigglefly's design team! You might be familiar with Marlene's "phat" men from the Digi Shack, and Squigglefly is tickled pink to have them make their new home here. We are also welcoming artist Brian Lock who you may also recognize from the Digi Shack. Brian's images have such a sense of fun and humor about them that I know so many of you will love. And last, but certainly not least we are welcoming Suzanne Urban. Suzanne has a unique whimsical style that I am so looking forward to! On top of the three new artists, there are some wonderful new images from Rich Davis, Diane Carubia, Chesney Young, Ashley Summers, and Teresa Ward! Want a sneak peek of one of the images?

I colored it with copic markers and chalked the sky. Then I had a little fun adding snow on the ground with some snow Tex and a little glitter on the ice and on his hat. The sentiment at the top is from Jess Holland and I accented it with some little holly leaves and berries stickers from Recollections. I'll try to have a sneak peek the rest of the week!

Snow Globe

Hi everyone! Hope you are all staying well. so many people I know are having sinus issue or full blown colds! I'm going to get my flu shot today!

I have a fun card to share with you today. I made a snow globe!

This was made for one of the challenges they had during virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoast Stampers over the weekend. The challenge was to make a Christmas card using non traditional Christmas colors.

I used the Crystal Ball by Michelle Bertuzzi but removed the sentiment on it, and replaced it with one of Cheryl Alger's adorable snowmen.

It's colored with Copic markers and then I put a bit of faux flower soft in the center of it and glued on one the the clear tops from the make your own buttons that I bought at Hobby Lobby. These don't give you a lot of space to put much filler in, but they sure are a quick way to make a shaker!

The sentiment at the top is from the huge set of 17 images called Happy Everything designed by Nina Brackett.

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine went by in the blink of an eye. I know some of you are probably wondering what's up at Squigglefly. There hasn't been any new images released in a couple of weeks, but there's a lot going on behind the scenes. If you want a freebie and more information on what's to come Go See HERE. Speaking of cards that inspire, if you haven't seen this card that Patricia St. Martin made with the Daisy Fairy image from Squigglefly, you need to pop over there and see it now. It's just a delightful treat!

Yesterday's featured stamper on Splitcoast stampers has a awesome gallery full of great cards to CASE. I finally settled on THIS card. I had every intention of printing my image on to watercolor paper like she did because I loved the texture it gave the finished image, but I couldn't find any watercolor paper in my craft room.

The adorable bunny with the tulip is called Rupert's Gift and is drawn by Crissy Armstrong for Squigglefly. I colored with Copic markers and stamped the grass sprigs beneath the bunny. The sky is chalked. I sponged a little Pink Passion ink on the scalloped layer.

I went shopping on Friday and found a bunch of Spellbinder's nestabilities on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I bought a couple and discovered later that I already owned one set! In the Shadows

Hi there everyone! Man I just feel like the time is slipping away from me every day. I always have a hard time adjusting to the time change. I used to come home from work and have time to get a few things done before heading to the park, but with the light fading so early we have to leave almost as soon as I'm home from work. You'd think I'd just do all I need to do after we get home from park, but it's not working out like that. We get home from the park and I need to get going on dinner and I blink and it's late and I haven't done anything! All I can say is TGIF!

My first card today is the last one I did from last week's featured stamper challenge. If you like to see the card I CASE you can see it here. And here is my version

This is a shadow box card. They are easy to make and I think make the card appear a little more special. The instructions can be found HERE. My image is called Make A wish Cake and was drawn by Robin Willis. I colored with Copic markers and added some stickles to the cake and candle flames. Waiting for the stickles to dry was the thing that took the longest in making this card.

My next card is another from the Stamp-a-Stack we did last weekend.

Isn't this very vintage looking? We used Crumb Cake card stock for the base and stamped some bells from the Bells and Boughs stamp set all over it with Crumb Cake ink. Then the Christmas Postcard image was stamped on vanilla card stock in Suede ink. We distressed the edges and attached it to a panel of Soft Suede card stock. The border was punched with the eyelet border punch and layered over Real Red card stock. I think this would be pretty with a little color added to the image too.

Holly Jolly Christmas

Hi everyone! I'm short on time so I'm making this short and sweet this morning. First up is another card I made for the featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast stampers. The card i picked can be seen HERE. And here is the card I made

Do you recognize that image? That's the center of the Christmas Montage image. I told you that one image could be used in so many ways (see this post in case you missed it).

I printed the image out rather large and then cut on the inside lines instead of the postage stamp squiggly lines. I colored with copic markers and then gold embossed the swirl in the upper corner. I stamped dots all over and distressed the edges and then rubbed some old olive ink on them.

The sentiment is printed with my computer and the name of this font is Doris Day. Where do they come up with these names anyway? If you like this font - it's another free one you can get HERE. I also stamped dots all over the card base to tie it all together.

This is another one that would be super quick to mass produce. Seriously, the most time consuming part of this was trying to get the little jewel off the plastic! We used More Mustard card stock and a layer of Cherry Cobbler. The wise men in Cherry Cobbler ink on to some Natural Ivory card stock and then did some sponging with the same ink around the edges. The sentiment was also stamped with the cherry ink. The stamps are from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set.

That's Just Ducky!

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far. Yesterday I went and had my ears lowered (that means I got a hair cut in case it's a little too early in the morning for you!) and it felt good to have a shorter do. Not a different hair style or anything - just a bit shorter.

Today I'm sharing a second card I made for this week's featured stamper challenge. If you like seeing the card I CASED you can see it HERE. For my card I picked this sweet little duck from the Duck Set by Eline Pellinkhof

I colored him with Copic markers and then stamped my grass sprig stamp from Art Impressions underneath him. The sentiment was printed at the same time I printed the image. The font I used is Cutie Pop. I did a row of piercing along the bottom and added some yellow with white polka dots ribbon. A simple, but cute card! I love the expression on the duck's face.

My next card is another one we did at the Stamp-a-stack.

The card base is made with the Baja Breeze colored card stock, and then there's a layer of Chocolate Chip. The white panel is embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder. We stamped the Dasher deer in Chocolate Chip ink and the Merry Christmas from Four The Holidays in Baja Blue. I love the color of this blue ink.
After that all we did was add a gemstone to one of the snowflakes in the background.

There are a few challenges I'm really wanting to make cards for - Squigglefly's challenge Music To My Ears, and the Tea Party challenge are just a couple. I hope to make time to play this afternoon but for some reason it seems since the time change I have less crafting time in the evenings. I know it's crazy because I have the same number of hours I did before the time change! What's up with that anyway?

Thank You In Many Languages

Hi everyone! It is shaping up to be a beautiful week here weather wise. I love the cool mornings. Riley loves it as much as I do! Every morning we go for our walk and even after an hour of walking she's ready to chase the soccer ball or jump after squirrels until I have to leave for work. We're all looking forward to the woods being accessible again, but it's a little early to venture in there yet.

The featured stamper on Splitcoast stampers this week was one that really captured my interest. I found so many cards to CASE from her gallery. I ended up making FOUR and still have more bookmarked! This is the first card I made and I based it off of THIS card in the gallery.

I used this very unique Thank You Tree drawn by Michelle Bertuzzi for Squigglefly. I thought about sponging some green on the tree, but in keeping with the card I was CASING I decided not to. I just filled in a couple of the thank you words with red and blue Copic markers. I used a Fiskars border punch and printed the "For Everything" with my computer.

Now how about I share one of the Christmas cards we made at Saturday's Stamp a Stack?

You can't go wrong by using red and green for Christmas can you? This uses Garden Green and Real Red card stock. The stamp images are from Stampin' Up! The Medallion is a really large stamp. Since all the elements to make the card are pre cut at these things, it was rather difficult to get the medallion directly in the center of the card stock piece. I found myself loving digis all the more while making these!

The Joy at Christmas image is from a set called Perfect Punches. We punched this out with a scalloped circle punch. I'm assuming all of the images in that stamp set fit a punch.

Easy Does It

Hi everyone! I had a great time at the stamp a stack and I will share those cards with you as soon as I have time to photograph them. I can't say enough about how wonderful Wicked was! The singing and the special effects were all just magical. It was their third performance and they've all been sold out. If it's ever in your area I highly encourage you to go and to get your tickets early!

I have a really quick card to share with you today.

This was super quick and easy and one that would be great if you had a lot of cards to do. I used a couple of flourishes from the Tribal Flourish Pack by Burcu Arat Sup. I changed the color of them in Adobe Photoshop Elements (tutorial here) and used one in a repeating pattern and smaller for the background. I just filled up a whole sheet.

The other flourish was used to frame my sentiment. I printed the sentiment myself using a fabulous font called Eutemia. You can get it free HERE. I just think it's so elegant looking.

I clipped the corners with some corner scissors and added some blue gemstones to the sentiment frame. Then I used some more of the background I printed to make this birthday card

The sentiment for this one is by Jess Holland called Birthday Wishes, and I changed the color of this to match. Then I cut around it using a template and sponged the edges with Ballet Blue ink. I punched some slots on either end and threaded some ribbon through to wrap around the background panel. Another quick and easy one to do!

I guess by now you realize that Squigglefly didn't release any new images this week. Ashley said she's holding them until next week - so check for new ones then. In the mean time, go check out the blog for this week's challenge!

Expanding on Christmas

Hi everyone and happy Friday! Ya'll really made me feel guilty about my cat! I'm sure it seems to you that he is neglected and Riley gets all of the attention, but that isn't the case at all. He is a really sweet boy who likes the company of humans, and he hangs out with me a lot. As much as I hate pictures of myself, I will show you where his most favorite place to be is



He loves to sit wrapped around my neck on my shoulders. It's wonderful in the winter time - like a living stole! LOL!

I have two cards to share with you today. Do you remember the card I made a few days ago with the Christmas Montage image that Rich Davis drew?

I told you that that one image was like having thirteen different images because you could choose to just print parts of it. Well, that's what I did with these two cards. This first one just uses one half of the image.

I colored each image with Copic markers and then added a few embellishing touches like glitter to the star, faux flower soft to the trim on the hat, a little gold embossing powder to the top of the ornament,and puff paint to the marshmallows in the cup of hot chocolate. Then I cut each image out and matted it with some green card stock and then cut around that with some decorative edged scissors.

My second card was done for this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I just printed the hot chocolate cup and enlarged it.

I puffed up the marshmallows on this one too - too fun! The sentiment is computer generated in that Pea Steph font I used the other day. The snowflake button is from Recollections.

Senior Moments

Hi everyone! How about a little bit of humor today? I made this card after I had one too many "senior moments". I'm sure I'm not the only one who can relate!

I used Estelle from Squigglefly and colored her with Copic markers. The sentiment was computer generated. I love this purple polka dotted paper from Cloud Nine Designs! I punched the bottom edge with an EK Success border punch. Speaking of punches - how about the punch line on the inside of the card

sending sunshine

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Before I get to today's card I felt compelled to show you a picture of our cat Juni, more commonly referred to as baby.



He is always hanging out in my craft room keeping me company, and he looked at me yesterday as if to say "you're always sharing pictures of that dog, why don't you ever take my picture?" so I did!

I told you that the gallery of this week's featured stamper on Splitcoast Stampers was one that I would go back to again and I did! I love the card that she made HERE so I picked it to CASE and came up with this

I used the bird on the watering can from the Spring Suite I collection that Rich Davis drew. It's colored with Copic markers except for the sky and it's chalked. I printed the words on my computer in a font called Pea Steph and you can get this cute little handwriting font free HERE. I am sending this card to a friend who loves the summer time and she knows I don't, so the inside of the card says "because I don't want it!" LOL!

The grass is made with my trusty grass sprigs stamp from Art Impressions and I dotted the "i" in "sunshine" with some yellow stickles. The image is cut with a nestabilites die and embossed while still in the die. I tied some heart lace around the designer papers. I thought the little hearts in the lace went well with the hearts on the watering can. Three green rain dots complete the layout!

We got a little rain yesterday and the temps have turned quite chilly! I love it! It means fewer people at the park and no mosquitoes! Its the time of year Brock, Riley and I get our park back and I love it! I hope you all get some time to spend outdoors if this is your time too. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for looking!

Ballerina Bear Is Featured

Good morning everyone! I'm happy to report that Niki did get in touch with me yesterday and the blog candy will be mailed to her today. I love it when I don't have to try to track down a prize winner or pick a new one!

As most of you know I love playing in the featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, and I didn't miss it this week either! The gallery being featured is a fabulous one! I found a lot of cards there I loved and know I'll be going back again and again for inspiration. The card I CASED can be seen HERE, and here's the card I made

I used the cute Ballerina Bear drawn by Susan Spiller for Squigglefly. She's colored with Copic markers and I used some Cotton Candy stickles on the flowers on her dress and shoes.

I cut her out with a square nestabilites and then turned it over and embossed it so I'd have the little indented edge. I used a Martha Stewart border punch under the image and pierced around the entire edge of the designer paper. It was finished off with a bit of dotted pink ribbon wrapped around the corner and tied in a bow. This is going to my niece for her birthday which is later in the month.

Last of the challenges and winner announced!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a really great weekend and got all treats and no tricks yesterday! We only had five trick or treaters last night, so I'm glad we didn't buy a bunch of candy. Everyone seemed happy with the free frosty coupon too. I will be having a treat for someone today in my blog candy winner announcement, but first let me share the cards I made for the last two Hope You Can Cling To challenges.

The 30th challenge was a sketch challenge, which made it really easy because you could pick any theme and image you wanted! Here's what I came up with

I colored up this little Ice Cream cutie with Copic markers and added a bit of glitter to the ice cream scoops. The sentiment was computer generated and then I cut it out in a heart shape, punched a hole in it and tied it to the ribbon with some gold thread.


The final challenge was to make a card that was inspired by a gallery in Etsy's treasury. The treasury I got my inspiration from is THIS ONE

I chose the Wise Owl image drawn by Angie Davis and colored with Copic markers and chalk. The sentiment is computer generated.

I am really going to miss these challenges. They have been a lot of fun for me, and I can't believe I did every single one and finished on the day of the last one!
