Who's Your Paddy?

Good morning everyone! Today is the last day of the month and that means that today is the very last day you can help Lucky get her surgery! Go take a look at all the images Squigglefly has to offer, and I'm sure you'll find an image or two with a cat in it that you would love to have!

I have another St. Patrick's Day card to share with you today. This one uses the brand new What's On Tap by Lynne Stansbery. I brewed up a batch of green beer!

I searched for some Irish/Celtic fonts and I liked this one best even though I know it's kind of hard to read. The front says "Green Beer Will Make You Say..."
I dotted a bit of glue with a Quickie Glue Pen in the circles of the punched border and sprinkled on some green shredded confetti glitter.
It's colored with Copic markers and I used some white puff paint to create the foam on top. Here's a picture at an angle to show it off a little better.

Here's a look at the inside

It says "Who's your Paddy? Happy St. Paddy's Day!"

Squigglefly has just put all of their St. Patrick's Day images on sale, so why not make a few yourself?

There's a new challenge on the Squigglefly blog today. Run by and see what Chelsea has challenged the design team to do! Have a wonderful Monday, and thanks for looking!

Make Your Own Luck

Good morning! I did get a little bit of play time in yesterday afternoon and I made about a dozen of these little lucky St. Patrick's Day cards.

The image is Shamrock Wreath by Lynne Stansbery. I really love coloring this wreath. I used Copics of course and added a bit of sparkle with some glitter on the ribbons.

The sentiment was computer generated and printed at the same time I printed the image. I sponged a little around the image while it was still in the die. The designer paper is from Papertrey Ink. I finished the top off with a green and white gingham bow.

On the inside I printed the I'm So Lucky To Have You image from Squigglefly , but I erased the four leaf clover and added my own!

It's a little green shamrock I crocheted and attached a pin to the back so the person who gets this card can remove the shamrock and wear it on St. Patrick's Day for luck! Here are instructions for crocheting your own little shamrock.

I used embroidery floss and a size 7 hook.

crochet 4 and slip stitch to form a circle
chain 3
inside circle do a triple crochet , double crochet, a triple crochet.
Chain 3 and slip stitch.
repeat twice more for remaining petals.
For a stem you you now chain four and crochet into the 2nd chain from
hook, slip stitch in next chain and finish off.

These are very quick to make. I hope you enjoy making a bit of your own luck! I'm entering this card into the Corrosive Challenge which is to use a form of distressing. I distressed my edges with the ink.

Today I'm going to get some of this week's meals prepared and get a few things ready for the work week. It looks like it's going to be about 70 degrees today so I'm sure Riley and I will be getting outside some too. But I did a lot of work around here yesterday, so I know I will be treating myself to some crafty time today too!

I hope you have a fabulous day, and thanks for looking!

Freebie Alert!

Hi folks! Sorry, no card to show you this morning, but I did want to pop in quick to tell you about a freebie! If you've seen today's release at Squigglefly this morning, then you probably couldn't help but notice this adorable Doxie Diva!

Anyway, there's a free sentiment to go with this image at all of Squigglefly's groups. You can grab it at any of these places

SNR group
PCP group
Yahoo group

February is almost over so please take one last look at all the cat images in the store to help Lucky's surgery fundraising! You can read about Lucky HERE. There are a LOT of really cute images with cats in them!

Hope to get to some crafting later this evening, but I've just now completed my menu for the week and now I have to go make out the list and hit the store! Happy Day to you all!

Lovebird Bird House

Good morning and happy Friday to you all! Well we certainly got the rain yesterday and it came with some pretty violent weather. There were tornado warnings out yesterday evening, but thankfully nothing came close to us.

I had to go get a new cell phone yesterday because I forgot to take my phone out of my pants pocket and it got washed in the washing machine. Cell phones don't like that too much! Luckily the new phone ended up being free because I was out of contract and had insurance. Now I have a pretty new phone! I was really glad they were able to get the information off of my sim card because I didn't want to have to program in all my phone numbers again!

Today's card is one that I really enjoyed coloring and I love how it turned out. I used the Lovebird Bird House by Marla Shega and colored it with Copic markers.

I double punched a strip of card stock to layer behind the image. All of the little brown speckles are made with a brown Blo Pen. I love the look that gives! The sentiment is computer generated and I sponged some green ink on that while it was still in the nestabilities die.

Tomorrow is new release day at Squigglefly, and I can tell you that are some great images coming your way! I hope you have a fantastic day, and thanks for looking!

Give Me A D!

Hi everyone! Wow, have you seen all the entries into Squigglefly's blog challenge this week? They are amazing! I finally got my rear in gear and whipped up a card for their challenge myself! The challenge this week is to use things or techniques that begin with the letter "D". You wouldn't believe how many "D" items some of the cards in the challenge have on them!

I told you the other day that I wanted to try to make a few Christmas cards throughout the year, so I have made a Christmas card for the "D" challenge! Other than the Digital image, how many "D" things can you find on my card?

By my count I've got five "D" things. Distressed the edges of the card, Dots both in the paper and in the embossed ones, Diamond glitter, Diecuts for the card and layers, and though you can't see it in the photo I have given the top circle Dimension with pop dots!

This image is one of the Shy Bears and is called Snowy Playmate. I used Copics to color and then used a Quickie glue pen for the areas I wanted to glitter up. So, I've got my first Christmas card made!

It rained a bit last night, and they are calling for thunderstorms today. Just my kind of day! I hope you have "your" kind of day wherever you are, and thanks for looking!

Is it A Trend?

Hi everyone! Another beautiful day on tap here! I wanted to play along in the audsentiments challenge which is to use some kind of trendy word or phrase on your project, and this is what I came up with.

I used the Trick Rider image from Squigglefly and colored with Copic markers. I did use some chalk for the sky, but it is kind of washed out looking in the photo.

The red diagonal stripes are strips of card stock that I cut and taped down. It gives a little more weight and texture to the card. The sentiment is computer generated.

I didn't get any crafting done yesterday. We went out to the park and we let Riley have what is now her last day in the fields until next winter. Why her last? Because after being there for over an hour stomping around helping her find field mice Brock and I sat down to just watch her. After a bit she started growling so we went to investigate and she had a SNAKE! Thankfully it wasn't a poisonous one, but that marks the end for us. Time to stay out of the woods and fields and stick to the paths. Time to put away coats and gloves and pull out the sunscreen and mosquito spray. Time to close up the fireplace and tune up the air conditioner....did I mention I hate summer?

Thanks for looking!

A Tisket, A Tasket, A Bunny's In The Basket

Hi everyone! Yesterday was a lovely cloudy day with lots of wind. We had a short afternoon rain and behind it was some wonderful cooler air! This whole week looks to be my idea of ideal weather - light cloud coverage, highs in the mid sixties and lows in the high thirties. This "perfect" weather doesn't last long, so I am truly enjoying it. I missed the mail not running yesterday though!

I have an Easter card to share with you today! I used a recently released image by the oh so talented Marla Shega called Bunny Basket and went with my favorite shade of purple.

I used Copic markers to color with, and this was really fun to color. I used some of the paper from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy pack. I thought the little bunnies were perfect especially since they are purple!

The sentiment is computer generated. I'm sorry, but I can't remember what fonts I used. I tied some ribbon at the top and accented the corner with some piercing and that's it! Have you started your Easter cards yet? It's pretty late this year, so you have time.

I have not made any Christmas cards for next year so far this year, and I'm feeling I should try to get a few a month made. Maybe I'll take some time this week to work on some of those! Right now I'm off to try to make a card for the challenge at the Squigglefly Blog. It's a fun one this week - You make a card and use as many "D" things as you can. Use things that begin with the letter "D" like dew drops, dots, diamond dust, etc. and techniques that begin with the letter "D" like distressing, or adding dimension. Fun, huh?

I wish you a fantastic day, and thanks for looking!

singing cowboy

Hi everyone, or maybe I should say Howdy! LOL! I'm using the brand new Singing Cowboy image that was released at Squigglefly this weekend and "howdy" just seems appropriate you know what I mean?

I colored this with Copic markers and chalk. The sentiment was computer generated. I love this image because it's a great one for men and also it can be funny which is what I went for with my inside sentiment

Did you see that ya'll have helped raise almost $100.00 for Lucky's surgery? Thank you so much for all of your help!

Yesterday was a new featured stamper challenge and you know I played along. The card I chose to CASE from the gallery is THIS ONE. Her card was definitely for a baby girl, but I chose to make a baby card that could go for either sex.

Big surprise I picked purple as my color. I used the cute little Bouncing Bundle drawn by Eline Pelinkhoff and paper pieced the baby's onesie. The sentiment was computer generated and then I used some scalloped scissors to cut some of the same designer paper I pieced with around the sentiment. Then I tied a bow with some purple white polka dotted ribbon and stuck it to the card with a glue dot.

Okay, one last thing - today is a brand new challenge at the Squigglefly Blog and I do hope you will go by and see what Vicki has challenge us all to do. I hope to find time to play along!
Have a wonderful day no matter what you do, and thanks for looking!

Spring Kitties

Good morning everyone! Squigglefly's new release is out! Have you been by to see? Do you have any favorites? One of the new images that I hope sells a lot is this Three Little Kittens by Lynne Stansbery.

She drew this to help Lucky get her surgery. Isn't it a cute one? I pulled out my colored pencils to color this one. The little swirl at the top is a sticker from Recollections.

We have daffodils like these popping up everywhere! It's going to be another gorgeous day here today. I've got to get my menu planning and grocery shopping done, but I'm sure there will be lots of time spent outdoors today. I hope you have a great day! thanks for looking!

Special Day

Hi everyone! Yay for Friday! I hope you've had a great week. Tomorrow is another new release day at Squigglefly. Are you as excited about it as I am? It's gotten to where every Saturday I wake up ready to check them all out.

Today I have a card that uses an image drawn by Lynne Stansbery called Pretty Maids All In A Row. I think it's a precious image and thought it would make a sweet card to send to someone whose wedding I can't attend. It's a way of letting them know I was thinking of them even though I couldn't come to the wedding.

I colored this with Copic markers and then surrounded it with some lace. The lace is glued to the back and folded over the front. I tied a bow with some sheer white ribbon and attached it below the image.

I made two score lines to frame the sentiment which was computer generated. I pierced a row of scallops under the lower score line and added a couple of pearls on either side.

You've still got a little time to play in Squigglefly's challenge, and you've got a great chance to win because not many people have entered! Also, remember to tell your friends how they can help Lucky the Cat get her surgery by purchasing any cat image at Squigglefly during the month of February. I know there's going to be at least one new cat image in the store this weekend too!

The weather here is nice enough for us to take Riley out on the boat this afternoon, so that's what I'll be doing when I get off work. We like to ride out to this little sand island and let her run and play. I hope you have a wonderful day too, and thanks for looking!

Gardening Advice and Dealing With The BLOB!

Hi everyone! Spring is certainly here. We had another 70 degree day yesterday with another one coming today. Daffodil shoots are up everywhere and I'll bet I see their yellow heads in a couple of days!

The onset of Spring has many gardeners out so I made a gardening card today with the new Teddy Garden image by Marla Shega. Before I show you the completed card though, I want to show you what happened mid way through my coloring.

yep, my Copic marker dripped and made a big BLOB! I have one pen that does this to me often, so I'm usually careful with it but this is the first time this particular pen did it to me. I almost trashed it at this point (the image, not the pen although that crossed my mind!), but I decided to pull out the colorless blender and see if I could fix it.

If you look closely you can see where the blob was, but I think it was salvaged. Those colorless blenders are amazing at fixing mistakes! Isn't this image just darling? It was fun to color too. I colored the dirt in one color of brown and then dotted little dots of a darker color brown to make it look more like dirt.

The sentiment was computer generated - and SO TRUE!

Oh, and speaking of gardening yesterday Stephanie Mino made the cutest set of note cards with the Garden Tools Bouquet! I am going to totally copy her idea and make a set of these as a birthday gift for my best friend's mom. You can see Stephanie's project HERE.

I've got another wonderful video to share with you today! My cousin sent me this one of a woman tourist watching the seals and penguins on Gold Harbor, South Georgia. One of the seals comes to her and they have a cute and interesting interaction.
If you can't view the video on my blog you can click HERE to see it on you tube. Enjoy your hump day, and thanks for looking!

Squigglefly's Challenge Is Dear To Me

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great Valentine's Day yesterday! My husband and I don't do a lot in the way of celebrating Valentine's Day, but we did exchange cards and then went out for a concrete which is a wonderful frozen yogurt that you can choose your favorite candies to be blended into. I chose a cappuccino flavored yogurt with Heath Bar pieces swirled in! Yum!

Yesterday a new challenge went up on Squigglefly's blog and Chelsea has given everyone the challenge of doing a non-traditional valentine using the color purple and you need to have hearts, brads, and some piercing done on your project. Now even though Valentine's Day is over, you can still create a card that just shows someone you love them, so play along!

Here's the card I made

I used some more of my favorite Cloud Nine Design paper and the adorable Forest Friend image by Revi Devi Paat. I colored with Copic markers and then cut the deer and bird out. The sentiment was computer generated and then cut out with a nestabilities label die. I sponged some Lovely Lilac ink over it while it was still in the die.

My hearts are brads so I knocked out two of the challenge requirements there, and then I did a bit of piercing under the sentiment tag. I think the piercing looks a little too much like I did it as an afterthought though.

The winners of the Valentines Day Feelings contest have been announced!
The best Traditional Valentine was made by Kym Weber for this card

Kym used Squigglefly's Hour Glass
and Valentine sentiment to come up with a wonderful card that is full of fun embellishments and a sweet heart charm.

Lisa Faul is the winner of the Anti-Valentine card with her funny and slightly naughty card here

Lisa used Marlene Shaws Phat Sexy Dude and dressed his boxer shorts up with a heart! The play on words can't help but make you smile!

And the winner of the prize package for Judge's Choice is Tricia Gorden for this card

I loved the playful mixture of papers and the different hearts. The layout was unique and pulled my eye toward it. Tricia used the I Heart You sentiment by Nina Brackett.

Congratulations to these ladies for winning, and thank you for playing along in the challenge! Kym and Lisa get to go shopping at Squigglefly and pick a favorite image or set for me to send them, and Tricia will be getting the prize package mailed to her!

I've got something really heartwarming and sweet to share with you. My sister in law sent me this video and I knew you'd all enjoy it too. If you can't see the video from my blog you can view it on you tube here. I wish you a wonderful day whatever the weather may be, and thanks for looking!

Two Featured Stamper Cards

Well here it is a Monday morning and back to the old routine. It's Valentine's Day today and I hope your sweetie treats you right! Temperatures were close to 70 yesterday afternoon and looks to be that way the rest of this week. I'd say winter is over for sure. The park was packed with people yesterday too! I hope you were able to enjoy some outdoor time yesterday!

I played along with the featured stamper challenge yesterday and made two cards. This first one is such a quick and easy card that would be great to make at the last minute or in batches so you always have a quick card on hand. The card I chose to CASE can be seen HERE.

Simple huh? and you could change the feeling and type of card just by changing the sentiment and using different designer papers. My sentiment is from the Birthday Humor set at Squigglefly and the paper is from My Minds Eye.

My next card didn't exactly turn out like I envisioned it, but I do like it. The card I CASED is HERE, and here is my card

The image is from Teresa Ward . I love the delicate beauty of it. It didn't require much coloring and then I used a Quickie Glue pen to trace over the parts I wanted to be fluffy. I used some home made flower soft to sprinkle over the glue and then tapped off the excess. Here's a close up shot of the fluff

I used pieces of foam core board to pop the image panel up. It gives it a bit more dimension than pop dots. The edge of the image panel is sponged with Blush Blossom ink and the sentiment is computer generated. I did punch little notches on the sides of the card to hold the cording in place.

Today is the day we announce the winners of the Valentine Contest that has been going on in the groups, so be sure to go by the PCP or SNR group to see if you won!
If you didn't win that one maybe you won the challenge on the Squigglefly blog! There's a new challenge up today and I fully intend to play along! I hope you will too. oh, and while you're there take a look at how much money has been raised for Lucky's surgery so far! There's a little place to the right that tells you where we're at so far!

Thanks for looking, and have a great Valentine's day!

There's A Limit

Hi everyone! Well, the last little bit of our snow melted away yesterday. While I was out walking I saw yellow dandelions poking up out of the earth so I guess the groundhog got it right!

The card I have to show you today is one I made a week or so ago when I was having trouble feeling creative. I guess it had me in a crabby mood because this card is kind of mean.

The image is Corporal Chunk by Marlene Shaw. I colored it with copic markers, pierced some holes in the corner and added some buttons and designer paper. This is where I got stuck and I came up with this mean sentiment for the inside

It's just rather blunt and rude and not that funny. I probably won't send this out to anyone I know, but I'll save the card front and use it on another card when something better comes to me.

Yesterday Squigglefly not only had an awesome release of new images, but they also sent out their newsletter. In it they have a picture of this little kitty named Lucky

Lucky needs surgery to repair a fistula and Squigglefly wants to help by donating the profits from sales of any cat image in their store during the month of February to Lucky's surgery. So while you're there checking out the new images, be sure to look at all the cat images they have!

You can read more about Lucky here , and if you don't see any cat images in the store you like you can still help Lucky get her surgery just by making a donation. The vet taking care of her has set up a fund for her.

It is set up through Sundown Surgery Fund at the University website so any donation is tax deductible. It is important to note in the Notes or Comments section that the donation is for the Lucky Fund.

If you would like to help with an online donation, here's the link to the page.

If you would prefer to mail in a check, please make the check out to The UGA Foundation for Sundown Surgery and make sure to note For Lucky on the check. The mailing address is

I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks as always for stopping by!

I'm only joking

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! if you've been to Squigglefly this morning then you are probably happily printing images to make some cards! The release this week is just awesome, isn't it?

I colored up the Sunday Brunch image by Lynne Stansbery to make a funny card to send to a friend who's a little down on men right now.

I used Copic markers and chalk to color this. The paper piece with the colored squares is pierced all around the edge, but it doesn't show up very well. I printed the sentiment out with my computer in a font called Fang Song.

Here's the punch line inside

ha ha! I know it's kind of mean, but I'll bet you smiled! Enjoy your day, and thanks for looking!

New Images Are Coming!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Today the temperatures are supposed to be above freezing and I think by the middle of next week we'll be getting close to 70 degrees. I'm sure that our snow will quickly be only a memory, but I have certainly enjoyed it! I showed a lot of snow pictures yesterday, but last night my best friend sent me this picture that is a view of another friend's driveway - it's completely formed by Mother Nature and I wanted to share it with you all

Isn't that awesome?!

As you know tomorrow will bring new images to Squigglefly, and I have a card to show you today that uses a brand new image from Marla Shega!

I loved this image when I first saw it. Once I had it colored I chose to not use any designer paper or embellishing other than a strip of sheer ribbon so the image could shine. It was fun to color! Here are the Copic colors I used

Since I didn't have a card yesterday, I decided to make up for it by posting another card with ANOTHER sneak peek!

Isn't this a wonderfully creative Easter image? It's from Rich Davis and will be available at Squigglefly tomorrow! I colored this with Copic markers and framed it with an embossed panel that I sponged with Lavender Lace ink. I tied an extra scrap of ribbon around the knot to make the bow a bit more impressive.

The Valentine's challenge in the PCP and SNR groups will end on Monday, so if you're looking for a challenge to enter over the weekend that should be the one! There's a great prize up for grabs and not too many entries yet!

I hope you have a great day! Thanks for looking!

Mouse hunt - no card today

Hi everyone! Thanks for crossing your fingers for me - we got our snow! It was - is absolutely beautiful! We didn't get out in it much yesterday because the wind was blowing pretty hard and the snow was constantly falling, but today Riley and I are going to build a snowman for sure!

I told you yesterday that I'd share some pictures from our park outing the day before the snow was due to come, and I am now keeping that promise!

first off is a tree that I have recently found out is a honey locust tree. Brock and I have called this tree the evil thorn tree and I'm sure you can tell why we call it that from these pictures!

Even the branches have wicked thorns on them!

After walking past the thorn tree we come to a huge field where we can let Riley off of her leash for some fun mouse hunting. We have to keep a look out for her tail to know where she is, and when the tail starts wagging wildly we know she's on the trail of something good!

She find s a hole that looks promising

and digs and digs

trying to get to China I guess!

Finally she's off to investigate some hay bales

Once she thinks there's something in one of the bales Brock and I turn it over so she can sniff 'em out!

She ended up with a total of six mice! I think that's her record. Brock asked me if I was going to take a picture of her mice and share them, but I told him I thought just me telling you was enough - you didn't want pictures of the mice did you?

and here's a picture of the mighty hunter later.

All tuckered out from a hard day's work!

I got to spend a lot of the day making cards yesterday, so tomorrow I'll be back with a card to share. Wishing you all a wonderful day, and thanks for looking!

More Riley & snow

Well I thought I'd pop back in here with some snow photos and more Riley pictures so that tomorrow can be focused on cards alone.

I think we ended up without five or six inches of snow. It's just beautiful.

Frosted Riley

a pristine blanket of snow

Our mini snowman. The snow is way to powdery to pack into a good sized snowman, so we have a mini snowman on a tree stump! The eyes are gum balls and the nose is a leaf.

and I had to make a snow angel

See ya tomorrow!
