Bunny & butterfly

Hi everyone! Today is the first day you can start pre-ordering the One A Day In May! I can't stress to you enough how AWESOME this deal is! Plus, I'll give you a little tip. If you sign on to our Facebook page and order through there you will get an extra image! That will make 32 images for $30.00! It's an amazing deal you don't want to miss. Plus it's so much fun to wake up every morning and find the new digi in your mail box waiting for you.

Before I get today's card I just have to share photos of my iris. They are so pretty!  This first picture has iris that are HUGE!  they are bigger than my splayed hand.  They shimmer in the sunlight like they've been misted with a shimmer spray.

the second photo shows iris that are smaller, yet taller.  They smell heavenly!  The larger iris have no scent.

Today's card is one I made for the Outlawz Copic Challenge.  My image is one by Diane Carubia  and is called Daffodil Bunny

I added a little bit of stickles to the butterfly. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! I'm going to get started prepping my weekly menu and hopefully will get some crafting time in tomorrow!

Your Dress

Hi everyone! I am so late so there is no time for any chit chat this morning! This is a card I made combining Badonkadonk and a sentiment called Your Dress, both by Chesney Young.   I thought a good thing for the inside would be "So how am I doing?", but I didn't add that to this card yet.

I colored with Copic markers and I used a trick I learned from Mel at Mel Stampz to add texture to the hair by using a pin.  I like how it turned out.

Another hot day today and the weekend looks to be hot too, but if the weather forecast is to be believed next week cools down a little!  I hope you all have a great Friday!

Hopping Down The Bunny Trail With Some EXCITING news!

I am SO EXCITED to tell you that Squigglefly is bringing back the One A Day In May this year!  If you've taken advantage of this in the past then you know what a great deal it is, and if you haven't taken advantage of it you probably regretted your decision.  If you don't know anything about One A Day In May, let me tell you what a bargain it is.  You pay $31.00 for the One A Day In May deal and every day in May a new image is e mailed to you!  You end up with 31 high quality, fabulous images for just a dollar each, plus it's so much fun to open you mail every morning to find out what the new image is.  The images will be available in the store too, but not at the one dollar price!  Please don't let this opportunity slip away!  You have to sign up for the One A Day In May before May 1st!  Sign ups begin April 1st.

Today I have an Easter card to share.   I used Suzanne Urban's fun Hippity Hop image.

I colored with Copic markers and chalked the background. Added some sparkly ribbon and a crocheted flower to dress it up a bit. I love the sly look on his face. It looks like he's trying to steal someone's Easter basket!

birthday tulip

Hi everyone. I found this card that I made about a week ago for a challenge and I realized I never posted it on my blog!  I used one of the tulips from the new Tulip Trio image by Betsy LePlatt and the Birthday Wishes sentiment that I love so much by Jess Holland.  I used Copic markers to color and doodled a frame around it with a multiliner pen.  The card base was embossed with the swiss dots folder.

it makes a quick card, but very pretty don't you think?

On the work front - things are going well.  I got to see the kids a lot last week because it was Spring Break for them.  I got a cardboard box that was going to be burned and cut windows and a door in it and then showed Tara how to decorate it with bushes and flowers by the front door, curtains in the windows, and little pictures to hang on the inside walls.  We took scrap pieces of cardboard and made a doll bed for her barbie dolls.  She had so much fun and is very creative!
I also bought a pack of twisty balloons and let them pick out different things they wanted me to try to make - I'd search you tube for videos showing me what to do and it was a lot of fun for all of us.  Making twisty shapes with balloons is a lot easier than I thought it would be!  I made a space gun, a big balloon ball out of three balloons, a bunny rabbit, a flower, and one we just left blown up and not twisted and pretended Tara had a tail!
Things like that sure break up the monotony of a work day!  I wish you a little fun in your day too!

Playing Footsies

Hi everyone! Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was great, but as always too short. The weather has been just gorgeous. If it never got any warmer I'd like summer!

There's a new challenge on Squigglefly's blog today and this week there is no excuse to not play along because it's an Anything Goes challenge!

I have two Easter cards to show you today. Fawn Palmer drew these cute Easter Footsies. There are four different bunnies in the set along with a really nice set of sentiments!  I don't think either of the cards need much explanation, so I'll just let you look!

Easter Bitch

Hi everyone and happy Friday! Today I have a bit of a different card to share, and I can't take the credit for it. I totally copied a card I saw in the store.

I used a Squigglefly image called And Then She Said by Lynne Stansbery.

I used Copic markers to color the image and chalked a bit around the background.  The words were computer generated inside the speech bubbles which are a freebie from Squigglefly.   I used the same image on the inside of the card

I couldn't help but laugh at this when I saw it in the store. Probably because I know so many people who would do this exact thing and correct you when you say something grammatically wrong! I hope you found it funny as well!

Miss You

Well yesterday was all bout dogs and today I've got a sweet kitty to share with you!

This is one of the newest images at Squigglefly from artist Lynne Stansbery. It is called I'm Thinking Of You and comes with four different sentiments.  I colored with Copic markers and added some embossing in the corners, some pearls, and a big polka dotted bow.  Isn't this just the sweetest little kitten you've ever seen?  It's really fast to color too.  I used Copic markers to color the image and then chalked around the background.

You still have a few more days to play in Squigglefly's blog challenge!  The cards that have been entered have been amazing.  So many wonderful, creative flowers!

Puppy chow

The Ways to Use it challenge on Splitcoast Stampers last Thursday was all about dogs. I combined a cute basset hound image by Marla Shega called Chow Time and some doggy themed paper to created this simple card

Marla's images are so easy to color - and they always look great!

Have a fantastic day!

Butterflies and bunnies

Mothermark's teaparty challenge is to bring butterflies, and on Sunday when I was looking at the Featured Stamper's gallery I saw THIS CARD and thought it was the perfect chance for me to use on the crocheted butterflies I made and combine the two challenges!

My card has no stamping at all.  I rubbed an ink pad of creamy caramel ink on to some white card stock and then embossed it.  I then rubbed a piece of sandpaper over it to make the embossed pattern show up a bit more.  The paper in the background is some I found on the internet, but I colored parts of it blue with a Copic marker.    The butterfly was crocheted from white cotton crochet thread, but I soaked it in blending solution and then dropped some of the same blue ink on to it.  While it was still wet I shaped it and it dried stiff and kept it's shape pretty well.  To finish it off I added some ribbon, lace, and tied a butterfly charm on with some twine.

Another little project I did over the weekend was to make this little bunny box.

I saw one on Pinterest and copied it using my own punches and dies.  There is a box in the middle to hold a treat.  I followed the tutorial for the box on THIS TUTORIAL from Splitcoast Stampers.   Here's a side view

I added a little pink pom pom for the tail on the back.

It really is cute, and was easy to make.  I gave it to my best friend for her granddaughter.

To The Happy Couple

Hi all! I could use one more day in my weekend, couldn't you? I did accomplish all I wanted to over the weekend, but another day would sure be nice. Today is a brand new challenge on the Squigglefly blog. Please try to play along this week!

On one of the online rubber stamping groups I belong to, there is a lady who is celebrating her anniversary this month. I made this card to send to her and her husband.

I used the Here's to Anything image by Lynne Stansbery and the Mr. & Mrs. image by Chesney Young. This is such a great image for celebrations and congratulations!  I added a little sparkle to the champagne and lots of texture with embossing folders and border punches.   I really like the elegance of white on white cards.

Two Really Simple Cards

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend! Today was a brand new release of images at Squigglefly and there are some absolutely darling ones! Be sure to find some spare time to go browse them.

I've got two really simple cards to share with you today. The first one uses the Crown Accessory and a little glitter and some jewels to dress it up!

I computer generated the sentiment, and here's the inside

My next card uses a sentiment from one of the new sets released today called I'm Thinking Of You. You need to go see this set because it's got several sentiments to go with THE MOST PRECIOUS cat image you've ever seen!

What do you think of my butterfly? Isn't it sweet? I stumbled upon this pattern for making them and just had to try! They are pretty easy to do. This one was done with crocheted thread and I used wire and pearls for the antennae.

What's The Buzz?

Friday is finally here and I couldn't be more ready for the weekend. How about you? Wednesday night I was working on a birthday card for a lady I know who loves everything to do with bees. I just finished the card up yesterday morning and was getting it ready to mail when I checked out Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge which happened to be "things with wings"! How fortuitous was that?

My card uses a Squigglefly image called Busy Bee by Bonita Jones. It comes with a sentiment, but I created my own on my computer. I popped the bee up on a homemade wobble spring and it looks so cute! It looks like it's really buzzing about!  I added stickles to the wings and even though the photo doesn't show it well, I colored the sky with chalk.  It's a super quick, but really cute card don't you think?

There's still time to play in Squigglefly's blog challenge - and you've got a good chance to win if you use a Squigglefly image because we haven't had many players this week!

Outlawz Clean and Simple

Finally it's the middle of the week! I don't know why this week seems so long to me, but several times yesterday I would catch myself thinking it was already Wednesday and would be disappointed it was only Tuesday. Maybe it's the time change or something.

Today's card is one I made for the Clean and Simple challenge that Outlawz posted on Sunday. The challenge was it had to be a clean and simple layout of course, and it needed to have a floral theme. I scrolled through my Squigglefly images and chose this Picking Flowers image by Angie Davis. She has so many really sweet bird images!

I used Copic markers on the image and chalk on the sky. The sentiment was computer generated and printed at the same time as the image. I did doodle the line along the left edge and little "bows" at the end of the lines. I scored some lines on the card base and then punched a couple of holes at the top to tie my ribbon through.  A really simple card, but I think it's so sweet.

I would pester you to join Squigglefly's blog challenge, but I haven't even done it myself!  Maybe tomorrow...

It's Tuesday, so it must be a Teaparty!

Hi all. Today is another one of Mothermark's Teaparties and this time our cards are all going to a fellow teapotter who is always sending out cards to others. It's our way of showing her how much we appreciate her. As an added bonus, we are writing our personal notes to her on paper so she can add all the cards to her stash for giving!

She is an avid Bridge player, so our cards are going with that theme. I thought the adorable Shy Bears image You Betcha was perfect! Although, I don't know a thing about Bridge so poker chips might not be involved! LOL!

The image is colored with Copic markers.  I computer generated the sentiment, and again I don't know if "trump" is a Bridge term or not, but I went with it anyway.  I loved that of all the different words on the designer paper, the word  "laugh" at the top right and the word "together" on the bottom left are the ones that show up!  I didn't plan that!

Have a great day!

CAS Easter

Happy Monday to ya'll! How's the time change going for you? The problem for me with the time change is that it seems so much earlier in the evenings so I end up staying up later at night! I'm feeling sleep deprived this morning.

Yesterday was the featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and HERE is the card I picked to CASE. I loved the simple layout. Here is the card I made using Nibbles With His Carrot by Chesney Young.

The sentiment is from a set of Easter Sentiments by Paulette Rich Long. I colored the image with copic markers.  the little bow was a piece of ribbon I cut off of a gift bag that had seen it's better days.  I just secured it with a little flower shaped brad.  Very quick card to make!

Today is a brand new challenge at Squigglefly's blog, so go see what Holley has challenged all the Hobbiest's to do this week and then play along yourself!

Surprise! I'm posting at an odd time because I've been busy with errands since I got up this morning! It's supposed to rain tomorrow and I wanted to have all of my chores and running aroun done so I could enjoy playing in my craftroom tomorrow!

Squigglefly had another awesome release this morning, so you should swing by and see. And be sure to check the Squigglefly blog Monday for the new challenge and lots of inspiration for the new images from the design team!

A long time ago one of my sisters told me about a funny card she remembered seeing. It stuck with me and on Friday I saw the Queen For the Day at Splitcoast Stampers and saw THIS CARD which reminded me of the card my sister had described so that led to this

I used the new Welcome To Home Sweet Home image by Jackie Matthews and the adorable Daisy and Daphne from Fawn Palmer to create this scene. The sentiment was computer generated. Everything was colored with Copic markers except for the grass and sky, which are chalk. I stamped grass sprigs over the chalk and added some glitter to the heart shaped puff of chimney smoke.

Now for the inside

The cow is another one from Jackie Matthews called Hello There and I added a "shocked" exclamation mark above his head with a copic pen. Again, the sentiment is computer generated. Bet ya smiled, didn't you?

queen for the day

Hi and happy Friday! Every Friday Splitcoast Stameprs has something called Queen For The Day where a member is given the title of "Queen" for the day. It's a way of honoring those who leave nice comments on people's cards and join in a lot of the challenges. It's kind of like the featured stamper challenge which you know I love. Well last Friday the Queen was a lovely lady and I wanted to play along.

I picked THIS CARD to CASE. For my card I used the ever lovable Mr. Wool by
Sandy Sommerfeld and placed him in a flower filled field. (say that three times real fast!)

I punched a flower border from the same designer paper and taped it to the back side of the hill. The sky was chalked and my clouds were just erased. I added a little flower to the sheep and used one of the fun sentiments from Sheepish Sentiments (what a deal that is - five sentiments for 99 cents!. The big flower shaped button is one I got when on a recent trip to Wal Mart.

There's still a little time to play in Squigglefly's blog challenge - not many players this week so your chances to win are even better!

It's St. Patrick's Day

Hi everyone! I've got a fun card to share with you today. I made it for the Outlawz Greetings Challenge which was to have a touch of green. I guess I have a bit more than a "touch", but here it is

I used the Evening In Ireland image that is drawn by Monica Estill. The sentiment is computer generated. Now the fun part is on the inside

I used the Grinning Pug image drawn by Chesney Young. Again, the inside text was computer generated. Hope it gave you a laugh this morning!

A Tweet Challenge

Hi everyone! Thanks for your comments on my puppy dog yesterday! She has loved tearing the caps off of medicine bottles ever since she was a small puppy, but we never let her have any that have medicine in them and we're always there when she does it! She hasn't had one to open in a long time and I wanted to see if she still liked doing it. I'd say not so much as she used to.

Today I've got a card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge at Outlawz. The challenge had to use two different papers on your project but still had to maintain the clean and simple look.

I used one of the Birdhouses
that Sandy Somerfeld drew. This is such a cute set, and there are SIX birdhouses in the set! So versatile!  I colored this while I was at work one day and didn't have my Copics with me, so I used Bic Mark It pens.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I'm still thinking it needs a touch of glitter somewhere!

Have a great day!

royal tea party

Hi everyone! Today's card is one I made for the teaparty at Splitcoast Stampers. The whole background story is a cat who is heir to the throne ran away to have some fun before she had to settle in her life taking care of royal business, but her time away is coming to an end and she'll have to return to her castle. So, I thought that the Teacup Kitten that Louise Gardner drew was perfect! To make her "royal" I added the little crown .

I used copic markers to color and added some pearls, and little jewels and glitter to her crown. "Hello" was computer generated. The border at the bottom was made with one of the new edgeabilities inserts that I won from Spellbinders. These inserts fit in with the edgeabilities, but I don't have any of those (yet!) so I just used it as is and I still think it's pretty!

Our cards are going to the mother of the girl who does a lot of behind the scenes at Splitcoast Stampers. Her mother recently broke her leg and due to some other circumstances she has a long recovery road ahead of her. She is a big fan of Queen Elizabeth and loves cats.  Her favorite colors are burgundy and dark blue so I thought the designer paper had enough burgundy in it to please her.

For Riley fans I have a new video to share with you!  If you can't see it on my blog you can view it at you tube HERE.

Squigglefly Challenge will get you to move like Jagger

Hi everyone! Wow, what a beautiful weekend we had here. the sun was shining, but there was a great breeze that kept things from getting too warm. Everything is budding here, and I mean everything! the pear trees are just beautiful now - like giant snowballs! I love the beauty, but I don't like what it does to my sinuses and I don't like that it just means hot summer time is coming, but I'm choosing to enjoy the now.

I snuck in a peek at Squigglefly's challenge for today and made a card for that using the Love Envelope Kitten by Louise Gardner. Louise is Squigglefly's newest artist, but she is quickly becoming a favorite with her cute images!

The challenge that Rhonda gave the Rascals is to make something wobble. She sent them all an action wobble to use, but I found a video that shows you how you can make your own if you don't happen to have any on hand. This video I followed was easy to follow and that's what I did for my card.  One note - after playing with lots of different wires, the best gauge I found was 26.  The little circle the cat is on wobbles. I'm sure using the action wobbles is much quicker and easier, but the home made ones work great for do-it-yourself!

My image was colored with copic markers and for some reason I always like to give my cats tiger stripes!   I used a white gel pen to doodle around the edge of the card. When I folded my card stock, the card stock frayed at the fold so I opted to disguise it by distressing all of the edges with scissors.  The sentiment is one from Stampin' Up!

I hope you'll take time to play along in the challenge - it's a fun one and it's good to learn a new thing like making your own wobbles!

Feelin' Lucky?

Good morning and yay for the weekend! I'm still waiting to hear from AJ Scrapbooking and Cards to claim the sewing elements dies. If I don't hear from her by Monday I'm drawing a new winner.

Have you been to Squigglefly and seen all the great new images? There are some fun St. Patrick's Day images and some really cute Easter images too! I chose to make a card with the Sexy Leprechaun image that Fawn Palmer drew. I love the playfulness of this image!

I used Copic markers to color and chalked the rainbow in the background. I added some gold embossing powder to the buckle in the hat and in the shoes, and used some tinsel glitter gold embossing powder for all the gold in the pot.  The bra and panties were dotted with a white gel pen.  I made a little clover accent for the corner with three punched hearts!    The image comes with three different fun sentiments!

Be sure to check out all the new images, and take a look at the design teams pages because several of them have been posting peeks and their cards are fabulous!

Winners and blue and pink bunnies

Hi everyone! I am happy to announce the winners of the Spellbinders dies! They are AJ Scrapbooking and Cards - winner of the sewing elements set, and Wannabcre8tive - winner of the dress form dies. Please send me an e mail at with your mailing address to claim your prize. If I don't hear from the winners by Monday I'll draw again!

Today I have a couple of cards that use the cute Easter Bunny Bouquet by Louise Gardner. They are my entry to Squigglefly's blog challenge which is Spring Is In The Air. You can't get more Spring like than Easter Bunnies!

First up I have a little blue bunny. Remember when I did THIS blue bunny a few months ago? Well, I liked him so much that I thought this bunny would be cute in blue too!

If you go back and look at the first card in THIS POST you will see some embossing on the top of the card.  It was done with one of the M-bossabilities folders from Spellbinders.  Well, the embossing done on this card is the opposite side of the same folder.  I love that you get double duty from these new folders!

The image is colored with Copic markers and I sewed the paper and ribbon to the card base.  The background of the image is chalked and I added some grass with a stamp from Art Impressions.

Next up we have a little pink bunny!

I used the same image but printed this one out a little smaller than the first one.  It's colored with Copic markers too.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I love the little pierced holes in this die - I think it's from Memory Box.

There's still time for you to play in Squigglefly's challenge too!
