Over An Egg

Hi everyone! Happy Good Friday to you. I hope you all are blessed with a beautiful weekend and have a glorious Easter this weekend! As promised, I have two cards to share with you today that use the Over An Egg image by Fawn Palmer.

Both were colored with Copic markers.  The first one uses a sentiment that comes with the image (there's another sentiment as well).  I used some little rain dots on either side of the sentiment and added three loops of ribbon to the side of the image.  The egg has glitter on the dots.

The second card uses a sentiment that comes with the On An Egg image I used yesterday.  I glittered the dots on this one as well, and used a paper prima flower in place of the flower in the image.

There's only a couple of more days to save 15% at Squigglefly by using the code spring15, and also to play in Squigglefly's challenge!  If you're lucky enough to have today off, why not spend some of it playing?

Speckled Eggs For Easter

Hi everyone! Well our designer had to reschedule our appointment to today so I don't have anything to tell you about the floors. I do have a couple of Easter cards to share with you today though! These both use On An Egg by Fawn Palmer.

The first one has a sentiment that comes with the image.  I used Copic markers to color the image and added glitter to the dots on the egg.  I think the image is so cute!

This second one uses the same image, but this sentiment comes with another image by Fawn called Over An Egg.  I have cards made with that image to share with you tomorrow.  On this second card I used some liquid applique on the egg dots and puffed them up.  I like the added texture it gives.

I hope you have a great day!

Tickle A Blue Rooster

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well so far. My husband and I are going to do something we've never done before on Thursday this week. As a matter of fact, it's something that I never thought we would do - but we are doing it. We are having an interior designer come over to give us her opinion on what kind of flooring to get! You see, we have wanted to get the floors in the living room, kitchen, hallway, foyer, and laundry room all replaced, but we haven't been able to agree on what to do. We can't get wood floors because our living room walls have wood flooring on them, and we both like that, but having wood floors too would just be too much wood. Anyway, we've decided on tile, but we can not come to an agreement on what kind of tile, what size the tile should be, or how the pattern should be, much less the color. Since we couldn't agree we just didn't do anything, but it can't be put off any longer. Anyway, I'm excited to see what she thinks will work best for us. I'll keep you posted and maybe even five you before and after shots!

Well, today is one of Mothermark's Teaparty's, and this week is tickle a teapotter week where we all send cards to fellow teapartiers! The theme this week is to bring hens, roosters, or chicks. Well, when I saw the word "Rooster" I knew what I wanted to do. A long time ago Squigglefly had a design team member; Debbie Boulton who made a card with the Rooster image by Angie Davis and I just loved it. So I decided to copy her card for this challenge and here it is

I colored the image with Copic markers, picked out some designer paper and stamped the word "Smile" (from a Stampin' Up! set) on to the paper.  The little colored dots are rain dots in different sizes.  I really like it, and it looks as close as I can remember to Debbie's card.  Sometimes I get so intent on coloring things the way they really are, that I forget how coloring something some completely off the wall color makes such a fun impact!

There's only a few days left in the month to save 15% off at Squigglefly.  All during the month of March you can save 15% by using the code spring15!  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Two Little Bunnies

Hi everyone! I really hope you enjoyed your weekend. Mine was busy and I feel very sleep deprived! I am happy to say that I did get a few cards made though. Here are a couple of Easter cards I made using the same Hoppy Bunny image by  Diane Carubia.

This first one was colored with Copic markers and I pierced around the edges.  The border on the right is a Fiskars border punch.  I punched two pieces and then butted them up against each other.   The sentiment is from Fawn Palmer's image A Baby And A Bunny.

I really love how this second card turned out.  I colored the image with Copic markers, but this time I cut the bunny out and popped him up over the circle.  The sentiment on this one comes from Fawn Palmer's image called Over An Egg.

I am entering these in the Outlawz Copic marker challenge which has an Easter/Spring theme.  Speaking of challenges, today is a brand new challenge on Squigglefly's blog.  I hope you'll take a look at what the design team has done, and please play with us!    Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

The Same Image, Different Cards

Hi everyone! I am so looking forward to this weekend. I really want to spend some time in my craft room this weekend, and it's supposed to be a rainy one so that makes it even better. There's just something about a rainy day that makes me want to hole up in there with my paper and markers!

Today I've got two cards to share with you. Each one uses the same image - Roses by Angie Davis. It's an image I go to again and again. this first card is a birthday card for a very dear online friend.

I used Copic markers to color the image and even used a pale yellow to do the background instead of my trusty chalk!  The sentiment was computer generated.  I embossed the background and added a punched border on the side.  The seam between the border and the embossed background is covered with a piece of pink thread.

The next card is a sympathy card made for a former Squigglefly design team member.  I am sorry to say that Sharon Jones recently lost her husband.  He was only 53 years old, and they have a 13 year old son.  Please keep them in your prayers.
This time I colored the image in yellow and used a different embossing folder and border punch, but the basic layout is the same.  The sentiment is another one I computer generated.

There's still a few days to play in Squigglefly's latest challenge "Face the Music"  I am entering these cards in and my song is "Kiss From A Rose".  I love the song, but personally I don't get the lyrics at all!

thanks for looking today!  Have a nice weekend!

Pop Up Gift

Hi everyone! Have the spring time allergies gotten you yet? I know a lot of people who are suffering through that or a late blooming flu. Luckily I have been spared!

Last week my boss's daughter had a birthday and of course I made her a card. She is a big reader, so I know that giving her a gift card to a book store is always a good bet. I wanted the card to be presented in a fun way, so I made her a card that opens by removing a belly band and then pops up the gift card. Here is a look at the closed card

The image is a new one at Squigglefly from artist Cheryl Alger.  It's called Avery Celebrates With Cake.  I colored the image with Copic markers and chalked some yellow around the background.  I added some stickles to the candle flame and used liquid applique for the cupcake frosting.  When you slide the belly band off it opens up to this

The sentiment is also from Squigglefly and is called Birthday Special.    the little flap on the right side is what holds the gift card.  She enjoyed her card and her gift.  I followed directions from Gina K to make this holder, and if you want to make one you can see the video HERE.

Well, that's it from me!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Spring Bath

Hi everyone! Yesterday I woke up to rain and came home from work in the blinding sun and blue skies. Our weather has been so nuts. Everything is in full bloom here and so pretty, but I am not looking forward to summer at all.

Today's card is one I made for the challenge on the Squigglefly blog last week, but I got busy and never posted it.

The image is a new one from Diane Carubia called Bathing Bear.  I colored it with copic markers and added some glitter on the bear's wings.   You can't see in the photo very well, but I did chalk some blue for the sky.  The sentiment is from a set by  Michelle Bertuzzi called
Birdie Birthday Set and I paper pieced the little bird.   I thought with the little birds in the image that this sentiment was the perfect match.

I hope you all have a great day, and thanks for looking!

Stupid Rabbit

Hi everyone! I know it's been a long time since I've posted. There have been so many things going on. First of all my husband surprised me with a new monitor/tv. The thing is huge and is taking some getting used to! When he was getting everything put together to surprise me, there was something going on with the cable box so he had to order a new box and it took us off line for a couple of days. Then I came in to make a card and realized that my craft room was in such a mess I couldn't think much less make a card, so I've spent the last few days cleaning and organizing my room. I also went through all of my pens and ordered refills for those that are dried out! I'm still waiting on the refills to arrive. It will be nice to have juicy pens and in all the colors because I've been without some of those colors for a while now.

Today is a brand new challenge on the Squigglefly blog. It's called "Face the Music" and you make a card that depicts a song. I will have to give that a little thought because I don't think I can think of a song that my card today can depict!  Maybe  Old McDonald Had a Farm - here a chick there a chick...

this is a new image called Easter Chicken and is drawn by Diana Garrison.  Once again Diana has the perfect expression on her chicken's face!  I used Copic markers to color the image and I chalked some yellow in the background.

I hope you have a fantastic Monday!  Thanks for looking.

Birthday Message

Hi everyone! I was in such a hurry yesterday to get my post up that I forgot to tell you all what I did on Friday night! I babysat for my best friend's little 1 1/2 year old grandson. He was a little doll, and we had a good time. I was a little worried because he doesn't know me that well, but he did really good. We sang songs, read books, played with a few of his toys, and his most favorite thing of all was pretending to talk on the phone and then exchanging phones.

One really sweet thing he did when I tried to get him to lay down and go to sleep - he saw a picture of his mom holding him when he was a newborn. He looked at the picture and said "mama" like he was going to start crying for her, so I picked the picture up and said "yes, that's your mama and that's Aiden when he was a little baby." Then I propped the picture up by him in the bed and said "Mama can lay down here with you." He just stared at that picture like he was a love lost teenager and then he said "night night mama" and he blew her a kiss. Isn't that just so sweet? he melted my heart. A little one will wear you out though!

Today's card was made with a new image from Diane Carubia. It's called A Message From Mouse, and I think it's such a cute image.

I used Copic markers to color the image and chalked some yellow in the background.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I could enter this in Squigglefly's Spring theme challenge because I think those are spring type flowers, but I am still planning on making another card for that!  I hope you will play along with us too.

Have a great day!

Furry Diva

Good morning everyone! Do you hate this whole time change thing as much as I do? It just throws me off in little ways and takes me about a week to regulate my sleep again. One thing that hasn't changed is that it's Monday and that means there's a new challenge on the Squigglefly blog! Swing by and see what this week's challenge is all about!

Today's card is one I made for a challenge at the Outlawz where the theme was "pets". I finished the card in time, but then failed to take the photo and get it uploaded.

I used an older image by Lynne Stansbery called Doxie Diva. It's such a cute one and there are so many dog lovers in my life that I will have no trouble finding someone to send this card to!  I colored the image with copic markers and used some little blue rain dots on the side.

Have a great Monday!

Fairy Beary Hugs

Hi everyone! Not much going on to talk about so I'll just get right to my card. I used one of the newest images in Squigglefly's store. It's by Diane Carubia and is called
  Fairy Beary Hugs.

I colored this with Copic markers and chalked the sky with some blue.  I added a little bit of glitter to the fairy wings.  I still may add a sentiment to this.  I think it needs a little something in one of the lower corners.

I'm happy for the weekend and am looking forward to playing with the dogs in the beautiful weather we have in the forecast for tomorrow.  Sunday we are supposed to get rain and that will make the perfect crafting day!

Wishing you all a great day!  Thanks for looking!

Ways to Use Ribbon

Hi everyone!  Surprise!  I actually have a card made for the Squigglefly challenge this week!  I always have good intentions, but it's not often I actually follow through.  I have to say the design team's cards really inspired me to go ahead and do it.    so, without anymore blabber about it, here's my card

The image I used is called Flowery Bear and Bees and is drawn by the talented Janet Jones.  I added the sentiment before printing.  it's colored with Copic markers and I added a bit sparkle to the bee's trail with a glitter gel pen.  I think it's pretty easy to see what I did with the ribbon.  I laid a piece of double stick tape down under the image panel and then pleated a piece of yellow ribbon over it.  It's the first time I've done that, but it was quick and easy to do!  I could probably use a little practice getting my pleats even, but I will use this technique again.

I hope you'll play along in the challenge too!  Have a great day!

A Simple Birthday Card

Hi everyone!  Did you have a good Monday?  Mine was pretty slow.  I spent a lot of time going over records in a data base that was really hurting my eyes!  One thing that was a treat for my eyes was all the cards the design team made for the latest Squigglefly challenge!  There are some fabulous cards there!

Here's a card I made with Diane Garrison's Art Deco Bird over the weekend.  I just loved using these colors.  It was a fun card to make for no reason.  I will be sending it to a friend of mine for her birthday and I know she will love it.

Don't you love the look on the bird's face?  She looks so proud of herself!  The ribbon is some that I cut in half to actually use, but the color was perfect so I couldn't resist using it.  i am inspired to use ribbon in a different way other than tying it in a bow though after seeing the Squigglefly challenge!  Hopefully I'll have a card for that challenge to share with you soon.

Have a great Tuesday, and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog!

Birthday Flowers

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty good. It helped to have a half day off on Friday too! We took the dogs out to the park and they had a blast. It didn't take long for Riley to find a log to dig in and chew on. She was so insistent that something was in there that she wouldn't be pulled away, so I left her and Brock there so Baxter and I could walk. We walked a great path and had the whole woods to ourselves. At some point we heard Riley barking like crazy so I assumed she had finally scared something out of that log. Baxter was walking off leash with me, and doing really well staying by me. He would get about 7 or 8 feet ahead of me and then stop to turn and look to make sure I was coming. I was really impressed with him. Then a herd of deer ran across the path ahead of us and he ran off after them! It surprised me that he would do that since he's so scared of everything and never cares a thing about chasing squirrels in our yard. He got quite a distance from me and I was worried he'd get lost, but he finally did turn and come back to me. After that I leashed him up!  When we caught back up to Brock and Riley we discovered that it had been a squirrel in the log. We came home with two tired and somewhat dirty dogs.

I want to remind you about the great deal at Squigglefly this month. Save 15% by using the code spring15! Also a brand new challenge starts on the blog today, so be sure to come see what Rhonda's Rascals are up to!

I worked on a few birthday cards this weekend. This one uses the Summer Sweet Daisies image by Lynne Stansbery.

I used Copic markers to color the image, and then chalked around the background some.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I used a corner die to cut the fancy corner decorations.  A fairly simple card,  and one more birthday card added to my stash!  I do like the yellow and pink together.

Enjoy your day, and I'll see you all tomorrow!

Sweet Easter Bunny

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I really hope you've had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. Today I am only working half a day and then hubby and I are taking the dogs out to the woods for a much needed walk. We will let them spend as long as they want out there! We only have a few more days left before it becomes too warm to venture into the woods and we want to take advantage of the few remaining days of winter.

I'm super excited about tomorrow's release at Squigglefly! There are so many great images that I can't wait for you to see! Plus, during the entire month of March you can save 15% by entering the code "spring15"!  You have probably seen some of the new images already from the design team. I have one today by Diana Garrison that I think is so sweet. It's called Sweet Bunny and is perfect for spring time and Easter cards, or you could just make it an anytime kind of card by changing the sentiment to "Somebunny loves you"!

I colored the image with Copic markers and then cut it out with a circle nestabilities die.  The wording is computer generated on to some lavender card stock and I rounded the corners.  It's a very simple card, but the sweet image is showcased.    I almost gave him a cottontail with a pom pom or some faux flower soft, but I think he's cute just the way he is!

I hope you have a really fun weekend.  I will be back on Monday with the new Squigglefly challenge, but you still have time to play in this week's challenge!
