Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well. One year ago today we brought Baxter home from the animal shelter and made him a part of our home. He was missing hair, had sores all over his body, and was very underweight - but he was the sweetest little guy! (sorry these first two pictures are blurry - I couldn't get him to stay still!)
Over this past year we've discovered a lot of things scare him. He didn't like the can opener, the blender, car doors, lawn mowers, fly swatters, sneezes, or very many people! He didn't know what a dog toy was or how to play. Through the past year we have helped him overcome many of these fears, and he has most definitely learned how to play! He has gotten back his hair and his weight (maybe a little too much!). He can handle the can opener, the blender, car doors, lawn mowers, and fly swatters, but he still hates it when we sneeze! He is uncomfortable when people come over, but he is so much better than he used to be!
He has really fit right into our family. He's been good for Riley too. They play together every day, and when we go to the dog park now Riley is much better with the other dogs. Here is Baxter today
I also have a card to share with you. This one is one I made with an image from Squigglefly called Sunflowers Gone Wild. It's drawn by Lynne Stansbery.
I colored it with Copic markers and the only embellishment I used was some ribbon. The sky was chalked with some blue chalk.
