Choo Choo!

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was just wonderful.  My oldest daughter and her husband came to town for the Big Dam Bridge 100, which was a 100 mile bike tour.  While they were here, my younger daughter came over to visit with us all.  It was really a nice time.  It's been a long time since my whole family was under one roof.  We played games, talked, looked at old photos, and shared lots of laughs.  I was sorry to see the weekend end.

I did make a few cards last night though!  One was for the
Outlawz Clean and Simple challenge which had the theme of Babies.
I used one of Fawn Palmer's images that I think is so cute, and the sentiment that comes with it makes me giggle.  It's called Baby In A Tutu. and it comes with the sentiment I've used here as well as another one.

Here's the inside of the card

I colored with Copic markers.  This was really quick to color too!

Today there is a brand new challenge on the Squigglefly blog.  I hope you'll go see what the design team has done and play along with us.  Some of them have used images that will be released next weekend so you're in for a treat sneak peek!

What a difference a year makes!

Hi everyone!  I hope your week is going well.  One year ago today we brought Baxter home from the animal shelter and made him a part of our home.  He was missing hair, had sores all over his body, and was very underweight - but he was the sweetest little guy!  (sorry these first two pictures are blurry - I couldn't get him to stay still!)

Over this past year we've discovered a lot of things scare him.  He didn't like the can opener, the blender, car doors, lawn mowers, fly swatters, sneezes, or very many people!  He didn't know what a dog toy was or how to play.  Through the past year we have helped him overcome many of these fears, and he has most definitely learned how to play!  He has gotten back his hair and his weight (maybe a little too much!).  He can handle the can opener, the blender, car doors, lawn mowers, and fly swatters, but he still hates it when we sneeze!  He is uncomfortable when people come over, but he is so much better than he used to be!

He has really fit right into our family.  He's been good for Riley too.  They play together every day, and when we go to the dog park now Riley is much better with the other dogs.  Here is Baxter today

I also have a card to share with you.  This one is one I made with an image from Squigglefly called Sunflowers Gone Wild.  It's drawn by Lynne Stansbery.

I colored it with Copic markers and the only embellishment I used was some ribbon.   The sky was chalked with some blue chalk.

Two Cards and Some Freebies

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a nice weekend.  Mine was really nice - the weather was spectacular!  We got a really long, soaking in kind of rain on Friday and Saturday and Sunday was gorgeous.  I spent a lot of time outdoors with the dogs.

I didn't do much crafting, but I did make a few cards.  Today I'm sharing two cards I made for the Outlawz Friday Copic Marker challenge where the theme was Around The World.  I went to Japan for my cards using the Mewshu Pork image from Squigglefly.  I made the background Japanese writing and the sentiments on my computer.

If you'd like to use the sentiments and have a use for the background, feel free to use them!

There's a new challenge on the Squigglefly Blog today - be sure to take a look and play along with us!

I'm aging

Hi all!  I hope your week is going by splendidly.  I'm just glad it's hump day and the weekend will be here before we know it!  Finally there is some rain in our forecast - for Friday, so that's even more reason to look forward to Friday getting here!

Here's a card I made for a friend who loves her wine.  I used a set called
by Fawn Palmer.  It comes with the sentiment I used here as well as one other one.

I colored it with Copic markers and added a dot of glitter to her necklace.   I let the designer paper colors guide me in coloring.

great news!  My friend Shawna (Paper Kisses and Inky Wishes)  is back in the blogging world!  She lost her old blog name and had to re-name it, so I wanted to give you a heads up so you can start following her again  You can find her blog Here

Have a great day!

Cookies and Cocoa

Hi everyone.  I'm running late this morning, so I'll keep this short and sweet!

Image and sentiment are Cookies by Diana Garrison.    Colored with copic markers.

I only got a couple of cards made this weekend, but that's progress!  Riley got skunked again this weekend - I believe this is her fourth time!

A new challenge on the Squigglefly Blog begins today!  Go check it out!

Need A Big Hug?

Happy Friday everyone!  I am so looking forward to the cooler weather that is supposed to be moving into our state later this evening.  If the weatherman is right it looks to be a great weekend weather-wise!

A friend of mine posted on her facebook page something that said "like and share" to give me a hug because I need a hug.  So, I made this card for her.  It's Shy Bears Bear Hug by
Lynne Stansbery.    The sentiment, which is perfect for this image as well as my friend is by
Jess Holland and is available here.

I colored the image with Copic markers and used chalk on the grass and sky.  I also chalked the sentiment while it was still in the oval nestabilities.  The strip of brown paper behind the image was embossed and pressed through enough to look like I had sanded it.

I hope you have a great day and weekend.  I'll be back on Monday!

blessing tree

Still keeping things simple while I work my way back to crafting.  I kind of feel like if I move back to it too fast, I'll scare the creative feeling away!  This card was made with an image by Judith Hart called Blessing Tree.

Colored with lots of different shades of red copic markers.  I later outlined the hearts with a glue pen and sprinkled on glitter.  I actually liked it better before the glitter.  I looked for a little heart charm to hang from the ribbon, but I couldn't find it.  I know it's here somewhere!

They are promising cooler weather to move in tomorrow night - into the high 50's!  Bring it on!

Life's Short

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another card I made for another challenge.  This one is for the Outlawz Copic Marker challenge which has the theme Read All About It.  I chose to use one of my all time favorite Shy Bear images - Reading Bear.  All of the Shy Bears are drawn by Lynne Stansbery.

I had my image pretty much mostly colored, but when I went to color the ottoman my freakin' pen dripped and left two big ol' blobs of ink on the paper!  I hate when that happens!

So, I printed out a sentiment and luckily it covered them up with no problem.

I like that you could add a title to the book if you wanted, or label it as a photo album and add a sentiment about memories!

It feels good to be posting and making cards again.  Here's crossing my fingers that it lasts!
I hope you're staying cool  - it's pretty hard to do here - we had another 100 degree day yesterday and it's supposed to do the same thing today.  Hurry up Fall!

It May Be 100...

Hi all!  What a hot weekend, and this whole week is supposed to be hot too.  With temps 100 degrees plus this weekend I decided to play in the Featured Stamper challenge and make a winter card!

The card I CASED can be see here.  My sentiment is computer generated and the image is drawn by Fawn Palmer.  It's available at Squigglefly.  It's called Winter Clothes.  I colored it with Copic markers and then cut around it and added stickles and faux flower soft.

My muse is slowly returning piece by piece.  I am sticking with simple cards for the time being.  I did get a few cards made this weekend, so you'll see me more than once this week!  Squigglefly's blog has a new challenge today.  It's a really easy one - just use a sentiment of some kind on your card!  Even my computer generated one here qualifies!  So go take a look at what the design team has done and play along with us!

Everything's Okay

Hi everyone!  Wow I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted anything!  I didn't mean to just up and stop blogging without an explanation, but time passed and my creativity was on a hiatus.  I did make this one card for the Clean and Simple challenge at the Outlawz last week, but that's it!  I had all day yesterday to make cards and didn't make a single thing.  I tried, but just couldn't get into it.  I hope it comes back soon or I'll be buying Christmas cards this year!

This card uses an image called A-Okay by Lynne Stansbery.  It comes with the sentiment.  The challenge was to create a card to uplift someone's spirits and to have an encouraging sentiment.  I think this image pretty much fills that bill!

A new challenge started yesterday on Squigglefly's blog.  If you're lucky enough to still have your mojo - go make a card!
