Hi everyone.  Okay, I just have to be honest here.  I am really happy with the growth of Squigglefly, but it has become increasingly obvious that I am not Super Woman.  Well, maybe I could be some people's idea of Super Woman, but I wouldn't be mine!

Most of you know that I manage the Squigglefly design team.  What some of you may not know is, that I also look for and bring in new artists.   (as a matter of fact we have two NEW ARTISTS joining Squigglefy, and you will meet them in May!)  Once a new artist signs on to Squigglefy, I receive their images, get them zipped and make all previews and thumbnails ready for the store.  I also try to comment on all the design team member's blogs as well as each entry into Squigglefly's challenge blog.    I try to copy and send a link to the artists of each card I see posted somewhere  that uses one of their images.  I LOVE doing all of these things!

But then there is my blog.  I started my blog before Squigglefy, and I adore sharing my cards and enthusiasm for Squigglefly images and digital stamps in general, but the sad truth is that I can't do it all.  So instead of pressuring myself and feeling guilty when I don't have a card to post, I have decided to just enjoy the blogging part of me by only sharing when I've got something to share.  I will be focusing my time more on the Squigglefly end of things.

I do so appreciate all of you who have followed me faithfully through the years, and I hope that you will continue to check in from time to time, but I won't be posting as often.  Thanks so much for understanding, and please keep me in your following list because I'm not gone!

Birthday Card In A Box

Hi everyone!  Yesterday we got some disappointing news about our veterinary clinic.  Two of the vets there, and they happen to be our most favorite ones - quit!  They are a mother/daughter team and we loved them so much.  They are going to open up their own practice, but it won't be near us so we are losing them.  We found out when we called to make an appointment for Baxter and were told that they were shuffling around appointments between the two vets who are left so there really were no appointments available.  I ended up having to take Baxter in when they opened up yesterday morning and just leaving him until one of the vets could take a look.  It's not the ideal situation with a dog like Baxter who is still scared of people.  The good news is that it's not anything serious.  He has conjunctivitis in his eyes, which will get better soon with the eye drops they prescribed.  I am sure going to miss our old vets though!

Well, let's get on to today's card.  I have a sister who really likes to get cards that are different in some way.  She likes interactive, different folds, anything unexpected.  The last few times she's gotten a card from me she has said "I love your card, but..."
She has a birthday coming up in April, and I thought making one of those ever popular card in a box's that's been going around lately would be just the thing for her.  I have to say, I do like how it turned out, and they really are easy to make.  I also think I need to invest in more dies for future boxes!

This card has no stamping whatsoever!  I used some fun birthday candle and flower dies.  I coated the candle flames in glitter.  Each flower is on a thin strip of black cardstock that I folded in half.  The sentiment is computer generated and I added a little flower punch to that.  Here are views from the sides so you can see the paper I used on the sides, and also the little border I added to the bottom.

Well, thanks for checking in with me today.  I am really going to try hard to get some cards made so I'll be able to share more this week!

Twisty Easter

Hi everyone!  Sorry for missing posting yesterday.  I overslept yesterday morning, and was doing everything I could to leave on time!  I hope you had a good weekend.  I enjoyed mine, but got very little crafting time in, so I'll probably be missing several posts this week!

The card I have to share with you today was made a challenge at the Outlawz where you had to make a card with an unusual fold.  I chose a Twist Turn card!

I used the Easter Basket Builder Set and the Easter Sentiments by Paulette Long, and Three Easter Eggs by Pamela Lehto.  I glittered the eggs and added a small little butterfly sticker on the front of the card.

There's a fun, new challenge on the Squigglefly blog!  This week is to you polka dots!  I hope you will consider playing.

Have A Grande Day!

Another challenge card today!  This one is for the Alcohol marker challenge at the Outlawz and the challenge is fairies.  I love this plump little house fairy from Squigglefly.  The image has words on it, but I cropped them out and used a sentiment of my own that I computer generated.

I colored the image with Copic markers and added some crystal lacquer to her eyeglasses.  I also added a crocheted flower with a green brad center and some glitter to her little wings!  I think it turned out really cute.

Psst!  There's still time to play in Squigglefly's challenge and I know there's no winner yet!

Spring Is Popping Up!

Hi everyone!  I hope your week is going well!  I've got a great spring time card that I made for another challenge at the Outlawz - this time it's for Thursday Twist challenge and the theme is Spring!

I made another of those folded flap cards.  The little flower on the front is on a pop dot, so the flap at the top tucks under.  The fun flowers are from Diana Garrison's cute set of images at Squigglefly called Daisy Pops.   I colored everything with Copic markers and chalked the sky.  I then added a bit of glitter to each flower for some added POP!  Spring is right around the corner, so these little Daisy Pop flowers will get some use the next month - plus the set comes with some great sentiments!

Just want to remind you all about the challenge going on at Squigglefly - it's an easy one!  Just use ribbons and buttons on your card!  You have until Sunday to get your entry in!  Enjoy your day, and I'll see you tomorrow!

How About A Little Mood Music?

Hi everyone!  I've got a card today that I made for the Color Challenge on the Outlawz where they gave you one color - fluffy white, and then you had to choose two other colors.  You also had to add some kind of twist.

The Divine Bovine's at Squigglefly have always been near and dear to my heart because there are so many corny puns you can use with them, and I am a real lover of puns!  This particular one is called Divine Bovine Bath.

My fluffy white is the soap bubbles, and my other two colors are pink and brown.  I have chosen glitter to be my twist.

Don't Criticize

I hope you had a good weekend!  Mine was pretty great.  It was the perfect combination of relaxation, fun, and productiveness.  I made several cards for different challenges.  This one was for the Greeting Card Challenge at the Outlawz where the theme was Coffee and Friends.

I used Shy Bear Cup A Joe Bear by Lynne Stansbery.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I used Copic markers to color it, and I added a little bit of crystal lacquer to the coffee for some shine.  The embossed flap is held down by the sentiment.  When you open it, it looks like this

Today starts a brand new challenge on the Squigglefly Blog!  I hope you'll check it out and play along with us!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Better Late Than...

Hi everyone, and happy Friday!  I've got what I found to be a hilarious story to share with you, but first let's get to today's card.

This was a fun card to make!  The image is by Lynne Stansbery for Squigglefly and is called Vanity, Thy Name Is Woman.  I colored the image with Copic markers and then cut the top and bottom with a border die.  The edges were sponged with some chocolate chip ink.  The sentiment is one I did on the computer.  I thought this background paper with lipsticks, powder compacts, nail polish, and perfume bottles was perfect!

Now for my story.  My daughter recently got a new puppy named Moby.  Here is a picture of him - isn't he just adorable?  He's a french bulldog.

Well, Moby had an accident as puppies will do and pooped a little in the corner of a room.  My daughter wasn't aware of it until a little later.  It seems her Neato - one of those automatic vacuums - came on to do it's usual run of the room and proceeded to the corner where little Moby had left his deposit.  The Neato picked some of it up which resulted in gunking up it's parts, and then rolled through it, backed up and tracked it over the rest of room which brought it back through the mess again to track it in more areas.  She said what would have been nothing to pick up and clean had she discovered it turned into a real mess.  Plus she had to take apart her Neato and clean it!  I laughed so hard when she was telling me the story, but I know it wasn't funny to her at the time.

Enjoy your weekend people!  I'll see you on Monday!

A Lady's Gotta Do What A Lady's Gotta Do

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another Granny Gertie card!  Seriously, I love this new character of
Fawn Palmer's at Squigglefly!  This one is called Granny Gertie Lifts Weights.  She comes with three different sentiments.

It's colored with Copic markers.  I added a fun border and a little flower.  The dots in the designer paper remind me of the dots the bingo blotters make, so that's one reason I picked it.  Also, since I used the flower I can enter it in Squigglefly's blog challenge!  Have you played with us yet?

katie's card

Good morning!  Today's card is not one of my favorites, but I do know that the person getting this card will love it because it's got two things she loves - boston terriers and cupcakes!

I used the Boston Terrier by Enid Barnes and the Celebration Cupcake by Pamela Lehto.   The party hat came from Party Dude by Marlene Shaw.    I added lots of texture to the cupcake for the icing with liquid applique.  I also cut a little piece of fuzzy sparkly stuff for the top of the party hat.

It's going to be pretty warm here today - about 80 degrees.  It's almost time to get Riley's fur shaved down for the summer.  We stayed out and played with the dogs until about 7:00 last night, but then the mosquitoes came and made us go inside.  Have a wonderful day!

Balloon Bear

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Spring is definitely in the air around here!  Daffodils are in bloom everywhere and the sunshine and warmer weather had a lot of people out and about.  I did  more goofing off than anything else!  I only got a couple of cards made, but I enjoyed the time I spent with friends and with our dogs.  I hated losing that hour to daylight savings time though!

I've got a card to share today using Fawn Palmer's adorable little Balloon Bear.  I colored the image with Copic markers and chalked the sky.

I cut apart the balloon and made my own string with some pink embroidery floss.  I will probably end  up using this for a birthday card, but I've left a sentiment off for now in case I use it for a different reason.

There is a brand new challenge up on Squigglefly's blog today.  I hope you will come play along!

Rehab May Be Needed

Hi everyone!  I've got a fun card to share with you today.  Fawn Palmer introduced a new character to Squigglefly with March's release - Granny Gertie!  I just love her, and I know you will too!  The one I'm using today is Granny Gertie Is Knitting.  She comes with three different hilarious sentiments.

I colored the image with Copic markers and even got a little creative making a pattern on the chair with my blender pen.  I wrapped some yarn around the designer paper in the background and then knit a little piece to place in Gertie's hands.  This was a fun card to make, and I have the perfect knitting friend to send her to!

Be sure to check out the other Granny Gertie's in Squigglefly's store!  They all come with fun sentiments that make card making so easy!

Ladybug Fun

The clean and simple challenge at the Outlawz this week is ladybugs!  I had such fun making my card mainly because of the quirky ladybug image from Monica Estill called Ladybug Shower.  Monica has several fun ladybug images in Squigglefly's shop - you should go check them out!

I computer generated my sentiment and added some ladybug paper along with a border.  I thought the paper and the border together looked kind of like a shower curtain which went well with the image.  Get a load of the two bunny slippers in the image!

Hi everyone!  I've got another day off today due to ice.  I am taking full advantage of it too!  We never got out of the twenties yesterday, so there wasn't much melting.  I don't know what the main roads are like, but I heard about a lot of accidents yesterday, so I am glad I was off the roads!

I made this card for my boss's twelve year old daughter who just made the cheer team at her middle school.  I made sure to color it her school colors, and also if you look closely you can see the letters "L. W." on the top - that stands for Lakewood which is the name of her school.  I am entering this in the the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast stampers.  Jen's gallery had a lot of cards I loved, but I made my card based on Jen's card which can be seen here.

I colored the image with Copic markers and added some glitter to her pom poms.  The ribbon was yellow with white polka dots, but I colored the dots blue with a marker.  The sentiment was computer generated on to the paper.   I also colored some parts of the flowers on the background paper yellow to match my color scheme better.

Have a great day!  See you all tomorrow!

Pick Two Colors

Hi everyone!  I hope your weekend was a fun one.  I had a great one.  I got to spend some quality time with my best friend on Saturday, and I still managed to get my grocery shopping and weekly cooking done.  I even squeezed in some play time in my craft room!  And to top things off with whipped cream and a cherry - we had a winter storm move through last night so I have the day off today to play more!  Can you tell I'm a happy camper?

Squigglefly had a new release of images over the weekend.  I hope you've had a chance to check them out!  There is a brand new challenge on the blog today, and I'm filling in for Kathy Bradley who is still recovering from her surgery.  The challenge is to use your two favorite colors.  I went with blue and brown for my color combination, and I'm using the very new Floppy Eared Rabbit by Pamela Lehto.  The sentiment is from a set called Easter Sentiments by Paulette Long.

I colored the image with Copic markers and stamped some grass sprigs over the green.  The sky is chalked.  I think this bunny is so sweet!  I hope you'll play along with us this week!
