Hi everyone. I just had to pop in for a minute to show you what I came home to after work today. Wait - let me back up and show you this picture of Baxter
So I get home from work today to find this
and the other side
Now you may be thinking he got into something and his hair had to be cut off, but NO! Brock just took it upon himself to give this beautiful dog a hair cut! He looks like a little dutch boy! Poor guy! I am not happy about it either! Good thing for Brock that hair grows back!
Hi everyone! I'd like to give a huge thanks to those that wrote me with suggestions on my tape gun problem. It did end up getting resolved! The problem I was having is that the tape rolls were warped which caused them not to sit flush on the black wheel. After much experimentation with different things, pushing the tape down and making a shim to fit under the little plastic knob worked. You can see what I'm talking about in this updated video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W3Yf5bzAXo&feature=youtu.be
Yesterday the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge was to make a card with a dog. I made two! The first one uses a retired Squigglefly image. Colored with Copic markers.
I colored with Copic markers and chalk. The sentiment was computer generated. The background is some of the fun patterned duck tape! For the inside I used Digger.
Now it's Monday and time for me to get ready to go back to work. I really enjoyed this three day weekend! And since it's Monday, that means there is a new challenge on the Squigglefly Blog. Maybe I'll actually find time this week to play along!
Hi everyone! I did a little playing with some of the soon to come - should have already been released images! I PROMISE you that I will be on Ashley's back today to get them in the store pronto, but in the meantime, here are some sneak peeks!
This one uses a really cute set from Carmen Gamble called Birds On A Wire. It comes with the sentiment and the birds are divided up into three different little sets so you don't have to use them all. I just connected mine with a little micro fine black ink pen. I also connect the line to the sentiment.
I used chalk for the sky background and added a little bit of glitter to some of the birds.
My second card uses an image from Sandra Caldwell that is perfect for summer. It's called Ladybug Daisy.
I added some glitter to the ladybug's wings, some crystal lacquer to the body, and then some brown puff paint to the center of the daisy. The background was also chalked on this.
On another note, I've got a Scotch ATG tape gun that I've had for quite a while. It is only in the past couple of months that it has started giving me a problem with the tape rolling off the rollers when I use it. I am using the same kind of tape I've always used - Scotch brand. I finally made a short video showing the problem in the hopes that someone will know what is going on. If you have one of these tape guns, could you take a look and let me know what you think? Here's a link in case you can't see the video on my blog - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7ieGaC0nwY&list=UUfrzKRv3wVFAtE2j_lObXCA
Hi everyone! Well, I really didn't intend to take such a long break. It just turned out that way. I have been busy with Squigglefly stuff and have gotten a little bit of crafting done, but not much.
Did you hear the news on the blog that July's release is going to include three new artists?! Isn't that exciting? I can't wait for you to see all the new images.
This past weekend I did find myself with some time to play in my craftroom. It was almost like starting over since it's been so long since I made a card! But I guess card making is kind of like riding a bike because I made three cards! Granted, they are very simple cards - but I like how they all turned out!
This first one is for the Teaparty at Splitcoast Stampers. Our cards are going to a little three year old girl who loves pink! She contracted e-coli and is having to have dialysis treatments. Here's the card I made
The image I used is by Niina Niskanen and is called Bunny With Tulips. I colored with Copic markers and computer generated the sentiment. I couldn't resist giving him rosy cheeks!
The next card I made is one for my boss's son who has a birthday coming up soon. He is a baseball player and loves baseball, so I chose Baseball by James Horvath for his card.
Once again, I used Copics to color with. I chalked the sky and computer generated the sentiment.
My third card was made for my stash which has dwindled down to nothing! I used Sandra Caldwell's image called Flower Tips. It was a fun one to color!
