Old and New and Gold or blue

Hi everyone!  Today I've got two cards to share with you.  One is using an old image that I received a while back in that image swap I joined.  All I know about this first image is that it's a bella from Stamping Bella.  I colored her with Copic markers and computer generated the sentiment.  I added some glitter on the cake.

This second card uses a new image I just purchased from Zuri Digital Stamps on Etsy.  She has some really cute images, and this one just called me to buy it!  I colored it with copic markers and added a little glitter  to the confetti around the blowout.  The only thing I'm not happy with about this card is the green rain dots I used.  They appear black on the card (not just in the photo) and that disappoints me some.

Okay, so along with the rest of the world I've been looking at the "dress" and I see white and gold which seems to be the most popular vote, but the dress in question is actually royal blue and black.  What do you see?  They say that it is all a matter of lighting, and if that is the case, then we all need to question how we are photographing and lighting the cards we take pictures of!  I have had friends tell me "the card you sent is more blue than it appears in your blog", but never has it been such a difference as this!  Please comment and tell me what you see!

Two cards - one I like one I hate

I've got a couple of cards to share today with some images I received a while back in an image swap I joined.  This first one is not one I'm happy with.  I didn't color the hair well at all.  In fact, I would have thrown this away except it's going to a young girl who won't care much about the card, but more about the gift certificate to a bookstore that's inside.

The image is from Saturated Canary - but I don't know the name of it because the sender didn't write it down.  The sentiment was from Squigglefly.

This next card is one I had a lot of fun with.  I don't know where this image is from.  I made the sentiment up.  It's going to the girl who cleans my teeth.  She is a big golfing fan.

Here is the inside.  I found the holey sock image by googling coloring book pages.

New Etsy stamp

Another snow day for me today!  We got a nice blanket of snow yesterday on top of the approximately 1" of ice we got the day before.  It is really pretty.  Today it's supposed to warm up to about 38 degrees, so it should be melting off some.

Here's a card that was fun to make.  The image is one I got on Etsy at Pink Gem Designs.  She is called Poppy In Sneakers.  Isn't she cute?  The background is my attempt at the video I saw at Marker Pop blog.

Two Tildas

Hi everyone!  I am home from work today because we got a layer of ice last night and presently it is snowing!  It's a beautiful snowfall with big, luscious flakes!

I have been making cards this morning, and here are two cards I made with some Magnolia Stamp images.  Both are colored with Copic markers and have added touches with glitter and/or white gel pen.  The first one is a birthday card for my stash, and the second one I thought would make a cute "under the weather" type of card.

Three Bears

Hi everyone.  Well, unfortunately I didn't make it to Memphis yesterday to babysit.  Thunderstorms rolled in and when I got on the road the rain was just pouring down too heavy for me to feel comfortable driving.  Little Rock to Memphis is heavily traveled with big rig trucks, so even during the best of weather I am nervous driving.  With the heavy rain, it was hard to see the road and the trucks were throwing up more water as they passed so I decided to turn around and come back home.  We are going to try for next weekend instead.

I have two cards today featuring bears this time.

Image - can't remember where this one came from.  Colored with Copic markers and chalk.  I also used gesso and glitter for the snow.

Image - I think this is another freebie from Beccy's Place, but I couldn't locate it to give you the link.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Two Penguins

Hi everyone!  I am so looking forward to this weekend because I'm traveling to my daughter's house to babysit Jacob while they go out to celebrate their anniversary!  It's been about 6 weeks since I've been able to hold him!  I see pictures of him every day, and he has changed so much.  He is a happy baby with a smile for his mama when he wakes up from his naps.  It will be wonderful to see him and hold him!

Well, yesterday I had two snowmen and today I have two penguins!  I don't know where I got the second penguin from.  Both are colored with Copic markers.  I added some puff paint to the hat on the second card.

Two Snowmen

Hello everyone!  Well, we got enough ice to keep me home for two days.  I got several cards made as well as lots of cleaning and cooking!  Here are two of the cards I made - still working on Christmas cards for next year!

I also played around with my Scan n cut.  My opinion on this machine is not good.  I will probably be putting mine up for sale soon.  I'm so discouraged and disappointed in it.

I scored and several winter cards

Hi everyone!  I hope you were able to spend Valentines Day with someone special and that you are having a great weekend!  We had temperatures close to 70 degrees yesterday, and today we are under a winter storm warning!  Crazy, right?!

I did all of my grocery shopping yesterday, and a lot of my weekly cooking as well.  Today I have a few more things I'm going to make ahead of time.  I hate when they forecast freezing rain or snow on a Sunday because I tend to anticipate being off work the next day.  When I anticipate being off work I tend to put off doing things because I think in the back of my mind "I can do it tomorrow".  But a lot of the time the weather men get it wrong and I find myself going in to work after all with a list of things I didn't get done!  I vowed to myself I wouldn't do that this time!

I did get out to the store this morning to pick up a few more "just in case" things, and I'm so glad I did because since it's the day after Valentines Day, the card lady was at the store pulling the Valentine cards which meant I could grab some envelopes!  She gave me this whole box of envelopes already assorted by size!

If you haven't already seen it, or if you would just like a reminder Here is a video on how easy it is to use these envelops to fit your cards.  It also shows you how you can use old calendar pages to make envelopes.  Here are some I made from my 2014 calendar.

I do have some cards to share with you today too.  These are all winter/late holiday cards I have sent out to people.

Hearts for Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to you!   In honor of it being Valentines Day I am sharing several cards that all feature hearts.  I recently joined a swap where the theme was hearts or love, so I made these but deliberately didn't add a valentine sentiment.

The dragonfly was stamped twice and I cut the wings out and popped them up with pieces of foam.  Of course I had to add a little glitter to the flight trail!

It's hard to tell in the photo, but some of the hearts are glittered.  The bigger heart in the corner is a sticker I had.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Quick Birthday Card

Hi everyone!  I am feeling much better!  I'm still not 100%, but I know I'm past the worse of it and best of all I know that I'll be all well by the time I'm due to go babysit my sweet boy!

I've got a really simple birthday card to share today.  This one uses another fantastic freebie generously given by Beccy Muir called Birthday Banner.

I added a little color to the flower with Copic markers and dressed the card up a bit with a border punch and some embossing.  Super quick which is what I was after because my birthday stash was completely gone!

Hope you have a great day - Friday is just around the corner!

Some bunny loves you

Here's a card I made for a very special friend.  I'm sending it to her for Valentine's Day, but also just to let her know how much her friendship means to me.  The little bunny is a free one from Beccy's Place and is called Balloon Bunny.  I think it has the sweetest expression on it's face!

I colored the image with Copic markers.  The image was cut with my Brother Scan n Cut.  This time I lowered the cutting threshold so it cut it out right on the line.  If you compare that with the cats I cut out in yesterday's post, you will see the difference.

The sentiment is computer generated.  I can't remember where the heart banner die is from, but I love it; especially the little stitch marks.

Thankfully, my cold is a little better.  My ribs are really sore from all the coughing I've done, but I can breathe again so I think I'm on the mend!

Five Cats

Well, I sure had a lot of fun with little cat from Sandra Boynton.    It all started with an innocent little Valentine card since he's holding a heart shaped balloon.  By the way he was cut out with the Brother Scan n cut.  Did a pretty good job, didn't it?  My opinion on this machine is still out though - I have had lots of problems with it.

Then I decided to do more cats with the balloon in all different colors.  Here's my blue one.  It's a gate fold card and it stays closed by a little slit I cut for one of  the scallops to poke though.

And, here's my green one.

And my orange one...

and last but not least, my purple one.  I added glossy accents to the balloon on this one.

I still feel like crap, but I'm still going in to work.  I suppose I can feel like crap there as well as I do at home.  Three other people at work are sick with this crud too.  I just want to get better in time to go babysit for my new grandson on the 21st!  Wanna see a recent photo of him?

Warped valentine

Well, let's blame it on residual anesthesia and pain meds after my tooth extraction.  I made this Valentine for my husband and got the dang heart brads upside down!  I tried to turn them, but it was messing up the paper so I just left them.

The Valentine Cow is from Eureka Stamps and the sentiment is from my warped brain.  My husband is just as warped though, so he'll love it.

I stayed inside almost all day yesterday blowing my nose and coughing, but in between all of that I got a lot of cards made!  I will be sharing a boatload with you tomorrow!  Today I still have my cold, but thankfully it hasn't worsened.  Have a great day!

Fat Cat

Hi everyone!  Well, my teeth extraction went fine.  I spent most of Friday sleeping and in very little pain.  Yesterday I got all of my errands and my weekly cooking done and even had a little time left over to play!
We had spring like weather all day.  I think we got up to 70 degrees.  Unfortunately, I seem to have caught this nasty cold bug that's been going around so I'm staying inside today.

Here is a valentine I made yesterday using a freebie from Beccy's Place.   She offers a ton of really cute free images on her blog.  This one is called Fat Cat.

I used copic markers to color him with, and I computer generated the silly sentiment.  I also added some pink glitter to the heart charm.  Hope you all have a great day!

Here kitty kitty!

Hi everyone!  Look, I've already got another card made.  This was a free image I found on the internet, and I thought it was perfect for a friend of mine who loves kitties.  I colored it with Copic markers and went really bright.  I think it turned out cute!

Thanks for the good wishes for my dentist appointment tomorrow!

Gone To Pot

I've got a humorous birthday card to share today.  Aren't those the best kind?  This was a Squigglefly image by James Horvath.

I have to go to the oral surgeon on Friday and get two teeth pulled.  One tooth will later have an implant in it's place.  They are going to have to drill out some of the bone to make room for the implant, so I have opted to have this done under sedation.  Not looking forward to it!
