Quick Get Well card

Hi all!  Just wanted to share a cute little turtle that I found free at Birds Cards.   Colored it with Copic markers and added some pretty papers and a couple of buttons.

Featured Stamper challenge

Hi everyone!  I hope your week is off to a good start.  I played in the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast stampers yesterday.  The card I cased can be seen here.

My image is one I got free is for subscribing to Through The Classroom Door.  It's drawn by Anne Fenton, and I think it's so lovely and just perfect for the card I chose.  My sentiment was done on the computer.

Easel/Green challenge

Hi everyone!  Here's a card I made for the Paper Ala Mode challenge at the Outlawz.  The challenge is make an easel card and the twist is green.  Green is my tree, which is a free  image I found   at

I computer generated my sentiment and added a little punched flower with some yellow glitter in the center.

Today is a lazy pj day for me.  I may get a few more cards done before work tomorrow!  Sure am missing that hour we lost!

Weekend crafting & cooking

Hi everyone.  I hope you are having a good weekend.  I have gotten a lot of things done today, and one of them is making these two cards.  The first one was made for the free for all challenge at Splitcoast Stampers where the challenge was to use a tree.  The tree image is one I had from Squigglefly.

I colored it with Copic markers and used chalk for the sky.  I don't know if you can see the bit of glitter I added, but it's there!

The second card is one I made for a friend who has done a great job losing weight.  I thought the little Shy Bear (also from Squigglefly) was the perfect thing to send her.  I computer generated the sentiment.

I have completed my cooking for the week.  We are having Creamy French Onion soup with ciabatta bread, spaghetti made with ground beef and sausage, shrimp scampi, chicken pot pie, and then one night we will have roast beef sandwiches with baked potatoes and meatballs with rice and macaroni and cheese.  The last two dinners are not ones I make ahead of time.  Tonight however, we are having Reuben sandwiches from Arbys.

texture challenge

Hi everyone.  We got a lot of ice, and a little snow on top of that.  It has allowed me to be home the last couple of days so I have entered a challenge at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge which was to make a card with an optional twist of "texture".

I recently signed up for a swap where the theme is flowers, or gardens.  Since my dragonfly card on kraft went over so well with you, I thought I'd make a couple of more for the swap.  the image is one from Diana Garrison called Dragonfly Garden.  You can see all the magnificent images Diana has at her Etsy Shop Crooked Little Studio.

The kraft that I printed on has a green color on the opposite side.  When I embossed it with an embossing folder, I was able to sand the raised areas and reveal the kraft color.  Here are my two cards.  Both are colored with colored pencils.

I also fashioned a makeshift light box by using some foil and a piece of white foam board by a window.  Are these photos better than my last few?  I'd like to know your opinion.  There is some glitter added to both of these, but the photos do not pick it up.

Smoking Kills

Hi everyone.  I've got my favorite kind of card to share with you today - a funny one!  I saw something on the internet about how smoking kills that struck me as so funny and I wanted to make a card with it, so here it is!  I really don't know what's up with my camera - this photo looks fuzzy to me too.  I will have to play around with the settings.

The image was drawn by my daughter Chesney Young.  She has plans to one day open her own shop, so when that happens this fun image will be available to you all.

Okay - I played around with the settings and took another picture - slightly better?

Magnolia birthday

I have to apologize for the fuzzy photograph of my card today.  I had already given the card away before I looked at the pictures I took so I couldn't re-take it.  This is using a Magnolia image I received in an image swap some time ago.  She's colored with Copic markers.  I added a little red gem to dot the i in "Birthday"

Playing with kraft

Two cards I made with kraft paper and colored pencils.  Both of the images are by Diana Garrison.  She was an artist at Squigglefly, but luckily you can still get her images at her Etsy shop, Crooked Little Studio.  The sentiment on the first card was computer generated by me.  I also used a speckle stamp all over it after I finished coloring it.
