Favorites
What a fun weekend I had visiting Jacob. He is one sweet boy! I got lots of cuddles and smiles.
I absolutely hated leaving yesterday. I will get to see him again in about a month. He is almost 8 months old, and his upper front teeth are coming in. He is such a good boy.
Today I've got some dragonfly cards to share with you. I made these for a swap I joined where you make two cards using several of your "favorites". One - this image from Diana Garrison called Dragonfly Garden is one of my all time favorite images. I colored the images with my favorite medium - Copic markers and colored pencils, and I used my favorite embellishment - glitter.
Here they are individually:
The weather looks to be great this week! I hope ya'll have a fantastic day!

Paper Ala Mode Is Just Around The Corner
Hi everyone! As you are reading this I am traveling to Memphis to see my sweet little grandson. I can't wait to see him. He has two bottom teeth and a top tooth coming in now! I expect to do lots of cuddling and laughing the next couple of days!
Today is Paper Ala Mode's challenge, and we have a fun challenge called Just Around The Corner. the idea is to draw attention to the corners of your card in some way. It can be done by folding over a corner revealing a sentiment or some pretty patterned paper, or maybe use one of the pretty corner dies or punches that out, or just pierce a design! Whatever suits your fancy!
The sponsor this week is Morgan's Art World, and I used the very beautiful image called Mystical Mermaid.
I have to admit that I got so engrossed in coloring the image that by the time I started putting the card together I forgot all about the corner part of the challenge! I ended up using a couple of photo corner punches to draw attention to the sentiment.
the image is colored with Copic markers, and I used a variety of ink pads to sponge color onto the background. I also dotted some white dots around here and there and used some acrylic bubbles as embellishments. If you look really closely you may be able to see some glitter on the mermaid's tail.
I hope you will come by and play along. There's a chance to win some awesome prizes!

cracked roses
On a recent trip to Hobby Lobby I picked up some crackle by Tim Holtz. It's supposed to give you a crackle effect in one step rather than the usual painting on a base layer and then later a crackle layer. I used it on this image from Bugaboo Stamps called Beautiful Blocks - Faith
The effect is a crackle, but it's also got a dimpled look that is very different from the other two-step crackle. It's also shinier. I like it, but I think I prefer the two-step better. Here's a closer look. It kind of looks like elephant skin, doesn't it?
Back To School Fairy
My boss's kids started school yesterday. The youngest one, who hangs out with me a lot in the office loves to get mail so I made her a card and had it in the mailbox waiting for her when she got home.
The little back to school fairy was a freebie I found on the internet. I glittered the wings and colored the whole thing with Copic markers.

Here's a simple card I made with some scraps. I really was just playing with my scan n cut trying to practice a bit with it.

Paper Ala Mode Add Flowers
Today's Paper Ala Mode Challenge at the Outlawz is to Add Flowers!
I used this image from A Day For Daisies called Gathering Flowers. The image itself has lots of flowers in it, but then I also punched out a flower filled background. Come play with us!

inking of you
I found this cute digital stamp on Etsy and just had to make a card with her. The sentiment is computer generated. I though the paper kind of looked like ink splats so I went with it.
