Anything Goes at Paper Ala Mode

The Paper Ala Mode challenge this week is Anything Goes.  We are being sponsored by Conie Fong Art and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I used this Coneflowers And Butterfly image from Sweet 'n Sassy and made these two cards

On this card I painted the image with masking fluid after coloring it and then used distress inks and a stencil to create the background.  I was going for a little bit of a bokeh look.  Unfortunately when I rubbed the masking fluid away it kind of pulled some of the paper off with it.  It's not that noticeable, but I don't think I will ever use masking fluid again.

My second card is more clean and simple

I hope you'll come play with us!

Christmas In July

Hi everyone!  The Paper Ala Mode challenge this week is Christmas in July.  I love making Christmas cards ahead of time, and it's so darn hot outside that staying indoors and making something that makes me think of cooler days is a nice way to spend the day.

We have two wonderful sponsors - Dollar Graphics Depot and QKR Stampede.  My first card is a pre colored set from Dollar Graphics called Country Snowmen Christmas Cards.  I don't use pre-colored images often, but I think they are a great time saver when you are making lots of cards or when you need a quick last minute card.  I added a little extra shading with colored pencils and had fun using glitter, snowflakes, and buttons.  I added the sentiment with the computer.

Here is a 2nd one I made.  The snowflake background was made with a stencil and texture paste.

My last card uses Sledding Bear from QKR Stampede.  I used the snowflake stencil and texture paste for the whole front of the card and punched a circle out to let the bear peek through.  I also added little red pearls here and there.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I hope you will come play with us!
There are a lot of Christmas in July challenges out there - I'm entering this one in Penny's Challenge as well.

Summer Fun

Here's a card I made for the Monday Greeting challenge at the Outlawz.  The theme is summer fun, and what's more fun than ice cream in the summer?  The image is from Bugaboo.  I added glitter to the ice cream and crystal effects to the sun glasses.  The inside reads "We all scream because it's so dang hot!"  I hope you are staying cool this summer!

quick and easy card for featured stamper

Hi everyone.  Yesterday I had a full day to play in my craft room, and I had so much fun making lots of cards.  One of the cards I made was for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  The card I chose to CASE can be seen here, and here is the card I made

I used the Zen Dragonfly image from Squigglefly and just blended n some distress inks in a circle mask I created.  Then I stamped a script stamp over it all with weathered wood distress ink.  Really quick and easy to make!

Foiling at Paper Ala Mode

Hi everyone.  This week's challenge at Paper Ala Mode is to use some kind of foiling on your card.  It can be as simple as using metallic card stock if you want!  You should definitely check out the cards the design team made - they are gorgeous and used so many different methods of adding foil.  I chose to muse some holographic foil I had along with my minc machine.

I stamped the image and then printed several copies of it with a toner printer.  The minc machine will make the foil stick to the toner.

On this next card, I used the negative piece of foil and used some silver embossing powder on the background.

Paper Ala Mode - Getting Back To Nature

Hi everyone!  Paper Ala Mode's challenge this week is about getting back to nature.  We want to see flowers, leaves, trees, etc.  Our sponsor is A Day For Daisies and I used this wonderful Jar Of Wild Poppies image for my card.

I made a joy fold card where the front flap tucks under the sentiment.

I added some crystal effects to the jar to give it a bit more realism.

I hope you'll come play with us!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Here's a fun shaker I made using an image from Bugaboo.
