A Birthday Card

Here's a birthday card I made featuring a trio of cats.  Nothing special, but I had fun coloring it.

Boy's 3rd birthday

My grandson will be three years old tomorrow.  He is all about trucks and construction vehicles, so I made him this card with a crane.  I thought I had a tire tracks embossing folder to use on the background, but I couldn't find it so I opted for the bricks.  I am pretty sure he's going to like it!

Quick and easy Christmas cards

Here are a couple more Christmas cards I made.  These are really simple.  I sponged distress ink on the card stock and then embossed it with the falling snow embossing folder.  Then I sanded the embossed dots to remove the ink.  I added a touch of glitter and backed it with some glitter card stock.

Do you love SNOW?

Here's a card I made for a swap last month where the challenge was to make a monochromatic card with a winter theme.  I cut the letters with my scan n cut and layered about 4 of them together for extra depth.
The background snowflakes were stamped with versamark and embossed in clear and then I sponged with distress inks.

More Christmas

This card was pretty easy to make.  Just die cuts, sequins, ribbon, and a pretty snowflake charm.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I have been slowly working on my Christmas cards.  I ended up with three major designs that I made many of, and then a few one offs.  I will be sharing over the next few days.  First up is what I thought would be a simple design of sponging blues and a little stamping, but the sponging required that I mask or make a template so it ended up more time consuming than I originally thought it would.  In any case, I do think the end result is quite lovely.

I used Distress Inks for the sponging.  The tree and the sentiment are from Stampin Up sets, and the snowflakes are from various sets.  I added a little shimmer to the snow banks and sequins too.

Packing In The Protein

Recently I received a coupon from Kroger stores for a free bottle of Bolthouse Frams Plant Protein Milk.  It's a non-dairy milk like drink made from peas!  I know it doesn't sound appetizing, but seriously it's pretty good!  I tried the unsweetened, but they have vanilla, chocolate, and original varieties.  This "milk" has 50% more calcium than dairy milk, and 10 grams of protein per serving versus just 1 gram in almond milk.  Plus, it's vegan, non-GMO, and doesn't contain dairy, lactose, buts, soy, or gluten!

First of all I tired it alone - in a glass and drank it just like I would a glass of milk.  While it isn't exactly like milk, it decent.  Then I tried it as a creamer in my coffee.  It worked great, and it was a good feeling to know I was getting so much protein and calcium in my morning coffee.  Next I asked my husband to try it in his daily smoothie.  He has a smoothie every day with yogurt, bananas, and strawberries.  He gave me two thumbs up and said it gave his smoothie a milk shake like texture.

From there I've used it as milk substitute in my baking and cooking.  I used it in mashed potatoes, meatloaf, and cookies.  Everything has turned out perfectly and no one knows they're getting extra protein and calcium.  I highly recommend this wonderful product!
