Family Tree and Veterinarian thank you folded books

I've made a couple more books and wanted to share them.  The first one I made for my daughter.  I love how this turned out.

The next book is one I made to thank our veterinarian who has taken such good care of our pets, but most especially lately Riley.  I was thrilled to find this veterinarian themed digital paper to cover the book in.  The pattern is a dogs paw with a heart in the center and circling it is a stethoscope.  She was thrilled when I gave it to her, and I was happy that she could tell it was a stethoscope!

Big Sunflower

I got a new die and had to try it out.  The background is distress inks.  I used copper embossing powder for the center of the flower and the sentiment.  The die really makes a quick and dramatic card.

Just playing

I pulled out some older stamp sets and just played around with them.  It was fun also pulling out some embossing powder that hasn't seen the light of day in a while.

Just a couple of cards

Here are a couple of cards I made with some digital images from Sandra Caldwell.

Floral beauty

Here's a card I made using the Minc.  I printed the image and then ran it through my Minc to foil it.  It was then colored with Copic markers. The second image shows the foiling better.

Progressive Freebie Challenge

Hi everyone.  The Progressive Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz this month features a really cute image called Dreamy Fox from Maria Medel at MMedel Illustrations.  I have loved Maria's images for a while now.  She used to be an artist when I was with Squigglefly!

Anyway, I had so much fun putting this little fox in different scenes.  Here are three cards I made.

more folded books

Here are a couple of folded books I made to donate to an auction that raises money for the local animal shelter.  I think the frame will be well liked, but I sure love this studious dog!  I have made the bow tie so that it can removed if the person doesn't want it.

A couple more cards

Not much to say about these, they're just cards I made.

Sympathy for friend lost

I belong to a couple of rubber stamping/card making groups on the internet.  I've made some really good friends in these groups - even though I've only ever met a couple of them in person.  Recently one of our members whom I considered a good friend died unexpectedly.  It is a great loss to so many of us in the group, and she will be greatly missed.

I made this sympathy card to send to her family.

Don't be shy about your birthday!

I went back to one of my favorite older digi stamps to make a birthday card for a friend.  This is birthday shy bear.  I still have so much fun coloring up the shy bear images.  I used a new die on the background and added some glitter.

A different fold

I played around with a different kind of card fold this weekend.  You can get two cards from one piece of card stock!

Tweet Cards

Here's a couple of cards I made for a swap.  The theme was spring, and I thought birds fit the bill.

Spotlighting Fall

The two card swap that I join in every month had a Fall card using the spotlighting technique for August's swap.  I created three cards so I could send an extra to a friend.  I used a tree image and watercolor pens to color my spotlighted area.  This was a super fun swap.  I have always loved the spotlight technique.

Putting on miles

My boss used be a big race car driver and has just recently gotten back into it.  Plus, he collects a lot of old vehicles.  So, I thought an "oldometer" card for his upcoming birthday would be appropriate.

more folded books

I've been working more folded books and thought I'd share them with you.  The first one is one I made for a sister.

This is one I made for my grandsons

and this last one is one I'm donating to an auction that raises money for the local animal shelter.  I'm currently working on one that is dog themed.

Flower Quartette

Here's a card I made using another new die.  I really love the simplicity of it.

Here's one I made with just one of the flowers from the same die set.

Winter Holly

I recently  joined a two card swap and the theme was Christmas.  I made a background of different hues of blue distress inks and then used some white texture paste on a snowflake stencil.  Once that was dry, I used the same stencil and a damp baby wipe to create more subtle snowflakes.
I used a new die of a holly branch stretching across three windows and fixed it to the background layer.  Then I just added some little red berries and some sequins and stamped a greeting.
