Fall leaves

Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love to make cards for Fall.  I used my minc to foil these leaves and had a blast coloring.

Chesney's book

Here's a another folded book I made for my daughter.  I did it from a photo of her boyfriend and his mother.  These are two people who are very special to her.  I was so happy to make it for her.

October Outlawz

The October Outlawz is sponsored by Polka Doodles and they supplied a cute image perfect for Halloween called Winnie Wednesday.  Here is the card I made.  I used a stencil for the background and computer generated the sentiment.

Rob's Dog

So my daughter has a friend who rescued a dog years ago, and he recently lost his dog.  She was telling me how depressed he was so I wanted to make this book for him.  He was a beautiful dog, and I loved making this.

Steer book

So I have a friend and neighbor who loves steers.  Not just the Texas Longhorns, but steer in general.  So I folded a book for her and covered it in cowboy paper.  I used a bandana for the spine and I also tied it closed with a strip of leather that I threaded through punched holes.

She really liked it, and that made me happy.

Old Friends

Another two person swap I joined was to make a card using one of your oldest stamps.  I have had this particular stamp of a watering can filled with flowers forever it seems.  I water colored the image with Zig markers.  I enjoyed making the two cards for the swap so much that I made two more to send to friends.

insect swap

A group I belong to has a small two person swap once a month.  I like these kinds of swaps because making two cards is pretty easy to do when you have a whole month to do them.  This month the theme was insects.  I made these two cards using a dragonfly image that was available at Squigglefly.  It's always been one of my favorite images.

Gwynn book

One of the things I donated to the NLR Friends of Animals Auction was a custom folded book.  This was a book I would fold from a photo of the customer's choice.  A sweet woman wanted to have a book folded of a photo of her sweet rescue dog named Gracie who had recently crossed the rainbow bridge.  Here is the photo she gave me.

here is the cover of the book.  I found some awesome "rainbow bridge" dog memorial papers on Etsy at Vizual Storm.

There is some burlap ribbon running down the spine.

Here is the actual folding.

And here is the inside of the book cover using more of the paper from Vizual Storm.

The book I used happen to a crossword puzzle dictionary.  I went through the book and chose 7 different words to describe a dog.  I found "Faithful", "Friend", "Gentle", "Love", etc.  and highlighted each word in order of the rainbow colors.  I let the customer know she could thumb through the book and find the words.  She seemed to love it.

Someone I know wanted a folded book from me, so when I saw this horizontal pattern for Sylvester the cat from Looney Toons I decided this would be the perfect book to fold for this person.
